opencarry at home

yes you can
legally you can only load the firearm where it can be lawfully discharged
this rules out most human inhabited places (that have "no firearms discharge" bylaws)

edit: inside your own home and as long as no one sees you from outside.

that's a joke right?

So it is legal to carry in holster, with loaded magazines not in the firearm but side-attached to the holster or something along those lines if you get my drift

haha just learning about the more complex but idiotic laws that govern our recovering nation.

Who said anything about loaded mags...? Everyone has said "as long as it's unloaded".

Why would you "load" the mags with anything but snap-caps or dummies..?

Yes sir. You can have as many loaded mags as you want as long as they are not in the firearm.

The same goes for transporting the firearm to a range (restricted firearm), you cannot load a full or partially loaded mag into your firearm even though there is a trigger lock on it.

Get used to it, there are MANY idiotic gun laws in Canada, you could write a whole book.

ya! why would you *cough cough* load the mags with *cough cough* live rounds!?

snap caps are pretty much a round that is not live, in the case of the ones i bought they are made from cnc aluminum with some sort of "self healing" polymer where the primer usually is. I use them for dummy rounds in live firing helps get rid of a the flinch/show the flinch. And in some guns that you can't dry fire, it saves the firing pin and lets you dry fire.

"...hopefully its a few bucks cheaper for 9mm..." Nope. $15.95 for 5 of either, at Marstar. Currently out of stock. You don't really need 'em for a centre fire. Essential for a .22 though. Marstar wants $7.95 for 12 .22 LR snap caps.
Look in a real gun shop vs a place like Crappy Tire.

Hey,
stupid question but I figured I should ask since I was looking up on the opencarry.org and other similar websites. Is it legal to holster your firearm in your house?

Don't bite and #####, just asking out of curiosity

Thanks guys

OK, I just gotta ask. How would you get caught?

haha don't hate just the questions of a new shooter, just learning the laws etc.

Anyways on a realistic note, at the range, when in the holster-it has to be unloaded correct?

That is up to the club.

I am one of the cheapskates that put no powder in a fired case and cut a hard pencil eraser to fill the primer pocket.

I live in a rural municipality where there are no by-laws prohibiting discharge... so...
