Hey Ted, as soon as I saw the moose was dead I thought, "I hope I can recover the bullet to show Ted"
The bullet is still missing right now, but I think it's inside the skull somewhere. (I'm planning to do a Euro mount with it, so I've gotta get all the stuff out of there anyways.) If it's not in there...I have no idea where it went. I'll keep this updated if I find anything.

I'm planning on working on the skull today, so there could be results soon.
We ate tenderloins with onions and green peppers that night. Delicious.

Well, here's the bullet analysis
Where I recovered the bullet
The best I can tell is I shot the bull in the neck on the left side and it traveled through the neck and came to rest just under the antler on the right side.
Here's how it looks now
I found other fragments as well (no pictures)
Stats
Bullet Weight - Matrix 270 gr. .366"
Retained Weight - 133.5 gr.
1987 FPS from 6 feet past the muzzle (50 gr. of BLC-2 out of a 24" barrel)
Approximately 98 yards
Obviously, the bullet did its job...the moose is dead and that's all I cared about. I was slightly leery about the "low" velocity with a bonded bullet, but I guess it worked alright.

I'd say.
Hopefully I can shoot a deer or two this fall to see how it does on them, but I think I've found my new favourite bullet in the 9.3x57.

You may find that one a tough hard to reload so I would suggest you load a new one for deer!!

I'm sure you saw this one that came out of the bear last year.
Not the cruciform, but the regular bonded core, started off at over 2500 fps. Looking forward to seeing how yours works on deer.
