Opinion on WARTAK 9MM AMMO?

On my third box of 250 out of 1000 and this happened.
Barely felt it. However it caused a FTF, as the casing remained in the receiver instead of being ejected.
It was in my 9mm AR.
Be careful. This could/might be more severe in other types of firearms.

My guess is the expansion was caused because the shell never completely chambered all the way. Sort of an unsupported type issue and upon firing....well......you can see.
That was just this one. Otherwise, it's been flawless.
I can feel some irregularity with powder loads in this blow back AR. Some felt more snappy than others.
I will submit this to WARTAK and/or hope that verywellhidden will see this post as I'd like them to be aware of issues from their ammunition. I think it's great that we have a local Canadian company trying to offer us a product at a more affordable price point. I'd like to see them flourish and continue to support our industry and sport.

There was a thread on Tenda's subforum, it was deleted today, there has been quite a few squibs and some duds. One guy had 5 squibs his first trip to the range.

One guy had a kaboom in his glock and it blew the magazine out of the gun.

I'm one of those guys that had 3 Wartak squibs in a single 200 round brick! Hassle dealing with Sterling/Wartak over the squibs. Now shooting Firearms Outlet Canada FOC house brand reloads for both practice and in matches. 6-7000 rounds of FOC ammo shot and not a single problem! FOC reloads are a dream shoot...I luv it!

Funny....they replied to me and now their reply has been deleted?
But we are in contact via email now.
I'll keep you posted as to how they resolve this issue for me.

luckily the guy that was shooting your AR at that time didnt ruin the gun. i dont know if he can afford to replace it.

I was the one that had the kaboom in the Glock 17. Happened half way through the brick of 9mm back in March.

Did anyone get Nicole's email from Wartak? They deleted the thread today and I didn't catch it.

Yep Nicole Bullock at Sterling Cross / Wartak / Black Goose Sports / scdsammo.ca aka CGN poster Verywellhidden also deleted her post to me and somehow my reply to her correcting her incorrect allegations in a post in which I was advising about my 3 Wartak squibs. The Tenda Thread in which numerous persons complained about various Wartak ammo problems was also apparently deleted!! Nice!!

Don't like what CGN posters have to say about your product...just delete the posts ....as if that will make it all go away!!

Lmaol....yea luckily :p

But thank God, all is well. That I know of haha

Would you like another go........ hee hee

LOL only if the next time you dont load the mags with wartak. remember we had a couple cycling issues in the same mag prior to this event?

Yes weird!!!!
After I replied to their questionnaire, she simply forwarded my responses to the Tenda crew. And I haven't heard a peep since!!!
Verywellhidden....coud you please follow up with Tenda. I am interested to find out what was the cause and it would be nice if Tenda at least replied.

***Update.....I was contacted, and it seems, They will try and compensate me for the batch as well as give me an answer as to what exactly caused the issue in the photo.

I had never even heard of this ammo until recently, when one of my suppliers offered me a great deal on it.

Close to 6000 shot, no issues.

Okay, 6500 rounds shot. No issues.

All shot from Beretta 92 and Beretta Storm carbine.

I can only comment on what my personal experiences have been, with this lot of ammo. If something catastrophic happens with the remaining 3500 rounds, I will report it here.

I go through heaps of ammo...I have seen more problems with factory fresh ammo (Rem, Federal and Winchester) than most commercial reloads.

(I've also had zero problems with PMC and Aguilera factory ammo, and winchester, federal and challenger shotgun ammo)

Shot about 500 rounds of it, no problem until today. Last 50 rounds were not crimped properly. All of the rounds were different OAL and it was very easy to push the bullets into the casing. Had a couple of stovepipes and jams before we figured it out. The last few rounds were deactivated and discarded.

I don't think he is blaming the pistols....he did mention that it is very hard to track or control how many times the brass has been fired.
Perhaps they will find a way deal with that, in the mean time I think we should command them for trying to bring us something locally made at a reasonable price. :)

Pistol cases that have been reloaded too many times typically split at the neck. A loaded round with a split neck is certainly safe to fire but it is done at that point. Pistol cases don't split at the web like an overused rifle case.

That is the result of a fairly hefty overload. I've seen it a number of times when developing a hot load for an SMG. The blowback action begins to open before the pressure has dropped, which causes the case web to expand like that. Short of having your face in front of the ejection port its actually not all that dangerous in an SMG and it certainly wouldn't cause any damage to the rifle. Would probably be a much different story in a pistol.

FWIW it is impossible for an AR to fire if the bolt carrier is not all the way forward. When the carrier is sitting back, out of battery, it blocks the hammer hitting the firing pin.

Suputin Thank you very much for this explanation. Makes absolute sense.
I wasn't in the mood to go through the trouble of sending them this one unique case for inspection.
Verywellhidden , perhaps here is your amswer and you could report back.
As far as the rest of the ammo, I took the chance and shot them all with no issue!

However I did notice irregularity in loads throughout the 1000 rounds (4 cases of 250)
Definitely something to control WARTAK!
