Opinions? on .22 semi

I'm going with a Chiappa 1911 style .22...Every review I've read on the 2nd gen of these pistols is that they are outstanding...Can't wait...Very soon

I've seen, handled and shot both the Chiappa and GSG. GSG wins on all counts of fit, finish, trigger feel and accuracy.

On top of that one guy I know that had a Chiappa had a couple of issues. They were waiting on a part coming in and something happened and the gun fired while out of battery or some other issue and it split the slide into three pieces..... The guy has a Ruger Mk III now as a replacement.

If you can get past the "Star Wars" looks of the Beretta Neos, I have found mine to be drop dead reliable, and fairly accurate to boot.
Yes, I agree with you with my brief experience with one. This is the only rentable .22 rimfire pistol at the Calgary Shooting Centre and I took one of my daughters there to shoot this handgun very recently.
No complaints with feeding/firing/ejecting.

Get a GSG1911. Nuff said.
Excellent quality on them, good trigger pull from factory (on mine at least), looks great, has a bottom rail (on the tactical which is more than worth the extra coin), eats anything I feed it, and for what it is, it is pretty accurate.
I'm actually starting to like my .22 1911 better than my 9mm 1911 just because of the cost difference of shooting. You can get a box of winchester 333 for about $15 after tax and the cheapest 9mm I've come across is $15 before tax for 50. So for about the same price, even a little cheaper, I can shoot 283 more rounds out of my .22 which makes range days last a lot longer with much more practice time.

a friend of mine has the GSG1911-22 and I'm going to give that a try. I've also heard good things about the Browning. I take the range safety course Wed it'll be interesting to see what the instructor's opinions are. I'll keep posting.

I reserve my judgement on the GSG1911s and similar styled Chiappas until I see them perform with my own eyes at a sanctioned bullseye match.

If you're after accuracy on par with a snazzy Browning or Hi Standard match gun then you'll be seriously dissapointed. Neither is in that sort of league. But as plinking guns go they shoot well enough for those of us with less than Olympic class skills.

This is why i'm requesting thoughts and opinions from all the GunNutz. I have shot the S&W 41 but a little out of my current price range. Still keeping my eyes out for a High Standard and am going to look at the Brownings. The Ruger shot well but I just found that something didn't quite fit right for me.Appreciate all the thoughts and ideas.

Yep, I've been doing a little more research on the issue and I may go with the GSG..The Ruger MKiii 22/45 I had was a great gun, I just didn't like the breakdown. GSG just may be my next baby.

Bear with me cause I'm new to handguns and just signing up for a restricted course now. But the Ruger Sr22 pistol isn't allowed in Canada?
