If you need a brake you should seriously look at getting a gun that you can handle, there is no shame in shooting a smaller caliber if you can shoot more accurately.
Another who knows very little about nothing.

My experience is limited to owning a Browning with BOSS. I don’t own it anymore.
I hate to sit next to someone at the range that shoots with a brake. These people are as inconsiderate as those shooting semi-auto rifles spraying casings all over others.![]()
Thankfully, you do have the option of moving to another bench or leaving the facility.
Yes, it's "inconsiderate" in the same way that you firing factory-power rounds out of your rifle is "inconsiderate", after all, you could use reduced power reloads or sub-caliber rounds that would make sitting next to you more pleasant, you'd still get all the benefit of practice without all that nasty noise.I usually let these people shoot first. But is this inconsiderate or no one cares???
I don't know. It came factory on my savage fcp-k, I think it's the same as the one on the bas-k or what ever it's called. It sure works great but wow is it deafening. Shure blows alot of snow or dirt back too.
...Under the right circumstances an un-braked rifle can still cause permanent damage.
