If you are still looking take a gander at the Girsan line as well. They are Beretta FS copies made on Beretta supplied equipment in Turkey. I bought one for $450 on the EE a few years ago. Fit and finish is excellent. The Beretta design is virtually jam proof. The Girsan Compact I have is every bit the shooter as the $750 Beretta M1A1 Compact I own in stainless. The Girsan and Canick are really excellent pistols. Their price does not reflect how good they are. The Turks have been making firearms since Christ was a Corporal. If funds are tight that is where I would be putting my money.

The Girsans are a pretty close 92F clone, not quite an FS, doesn't have the slide failure pin that the FS has, and locking block angles are slightly different.
Definitely good guns for the price.
