Guy I spoke with at the range today was telling me he had this *exact* issue on his SKS
So would a strike eagle (which is much shorter and I`m guessing could be placed much further back to avoid this issue) work?
I have to say that for $220 this is a lot of gun for the money
---
Surprised myself that I could hit steel at 150+ yards with the standard peep sights!
Did the guy at the range also tell you how he could never keep the scope zeroed because the receiver cover that it is mounted on is never 100% tight and floats around whenever you fire a shot?
Did he also mention that his scope only lasted 50 rounds before the reticle in the scope fell apart because the bolt hits the back of the receiver cover so hard that it beats the scope internals to death?
And did any body mention that your $200 dollar rifle is a 65 year old commie battle rifle that was made for illiterate Russian peasants to spray and pray in the direction of the Capitalist oppressors and has about the overall accuracy of a fire hose.
You really want to waste your time and money putting a scope on that?
If you want to play with scopes, get yourself a cheap Remington SPS in .308, buy whatever scope tickles your fancy and shoot a thousand rounds through it. After that, get yourself a new stock, a nice Krieger precision barrel to screw onto your Remmy action, and, whoopee!, you suddenly have a precision rifle.
See? Wasn't that easy?
And finally, to be all pedantic, the SKS does not have "peep sights". They are just plain open sights, no peeping required.
Heh.
