I just purchased a 1951 Tula SKS with new synthetic stock and rails but no scope. My old eyes need some help so I stopped in to a local gun shop to purchase a scope and have installed, only to be told that there are no good solutions for my problem. Apparently if the scope is mounted over the rear dust cover it may require being zeroed in every time the gun is cleaned. If scope is mounted in front of the breech, then there are problems with eye relief and casing ejection. Can you help?

Martin (Corwin-Arms) is right. The MagWedge rails work well, and you can remove the rear bolt to tip up the rail and get at everything for cleaning, and when you put everything back together, returns to zero just fine.

Ignore any haters that might jump into the thread. The SKS is a solid rifle, and a good grocery getter.

Indeed +1

BC tactical also produces a "Scout Mount" that replaces the rear sight. They are very solid, and a good 2-7 Scout Scope will easily take you out as far as the SKS is effective. I like the setup, and find its very quick on target

Thank you all for your suggestions. I will research these some more and let you know how the issue gets settled.
