Hi All,

I'm in the market for a Tavor...will likely buy used. I am wondering what you all recommend for optics? I will use the gun for gun range fun out to 300 yards, and predator hunting at closer ranges.

Thanks!!

Wait until you get your Tavor and actually try different options.

Depending on size of your face, you might have some trouble with cheek-wield. There is a difference between AR and Tavor. Aim-point 1/3 lower co-witness mount gave me full co-witness on Tavor.

1/3 CW is better with the stock rail. Or you add can a Manitcore or Gearhead.

Your budget will really dictate the quality of glass you get. Everyone always likes to scream "elcan" right away but honestly, the price is way too high for most. Is it one of the best, sure it is. Is it necessary to spend that much for quality glass, no not at all.

My recommendation would be something in the 1-4 or 1-6 range. This type of glass lets you shoot CQB and long range.

Whats your budget?

I would say $500 max

That'ss why it annoys me when guys get on the horn and immediate tell you to get a 2,500$ elcan. For 500$, I would suggest looking into the Burris MTAC or Vortex Strike Eagle or for just a tiny bit more, a Leupold Mk AR 1-4. Keep in mind though that you will still need to buy a mount or rings. All the options I mentioned will serve you right.

Perhaps then the OP should state his/her budget up front. Then you won't get so "annoyed".

Vague questions deserve vague answers.

Was the Geissele trigger upgrade worth the cost??

I bought both the Super Sabra and the Lightning Trigger Bow... and it was the best money that I've put into my Tavor.

I've posted these pictures elsewhere, but thought I'd put them up again, anyway... just some options that happen to work for three different guys.

Good luck.

I like this sort of setup too. A razor or a nightforce if you're feeling spendy, or a strike eagle or primary arms if you want to put money into rounds instead of glass.

I'm slowly starting to come back around to the idea of red-dots and magnifiers again. Not the eotechs, but others...

The Vortex Strike Eagle looks like a great option to me, particularly for predator hunting. Would I need a riser as well, or will rings be adequate??

Yeah you can get away with rings. Just make sure to get the right height. Prob gonna need some extra high. Make sure to spend money to get decent rings though. Tasco wont cut it. lol
