Looking for a rifle that will produce under MOA at 500 yards. I already have a custom rifle built by Insite in 300WM that does the job very well but I want something a bit less powerful so thinking of a 6.5 CM. The custom route is a possibility but I have read a lot of great things about the Cadex offerings and buying off the shelf is what I am considering.

My question for everyone is what are some possible options ( hopefully cheaper lol.. ) that are up to the precision provided by Cadex , ATR etc... and are off the shelf products.

Note: I don't compete so won't be shooting long strings. Just plinking at a max distance of 500M as that is all my range goes up to.

Thanks in advance for any and all info.

Heck, that’s an awfully open requirement. MOA or less, off the shelf - you have a huge selection to choose from. You can start with a Savage Target/Varmint for $600 that will do what you want. Remington 700. Bergara. The precision rifle section of the EE will give you as many options as you want, and generally speaking at a lot less cost than a custom.

My personal favourite right now is a Daniel Defense Delta 5. Comes with a .75 MOA guarantee from the manufacturer

I guess I needed to be a bit more specific. Looking for .5 MOA capable and the reason for 6.5 CM is i am already set up with dies, brass etc...

Get a Tikka for the barreled action and throw it in an XRS, KRG Bravo, or the KRG Echo! That will be my next rifle. I have a friend that has the Tikka Varmint in .308 in the Echo chassis and I really liked shooting it. He was getting under MOA at 300m with factory ammo.

I have a Howa 1500 6.5CM in an XRS that also has the accuracy you are looking for, but I have been having some issues with blown primers lately, so I am bit sour on them, lol.

Tikka Varmint, Tikka Ace, Ruger Precision or a Bergara B14 HMR will do what you want.

Heck i've seen a Savage Axis Precision II do that often.

You don't NEED an expensive rig to get that kind of accuracy at that range.

I competed with a guy who shot a factory RPR 6.5 creed in PRS for 2 seasons and would often beat sponsored shooters with top of the line custom rifles. Granted he wasn't shooting a match every weekend, but he shot 5ish matches a year. And even when he didn't win, he was always top 10.

Depends on your budget, but a Cadex is a very good choice (I have one n .308). In second place i'd go with the Tikka Ace Target or CZ600 Range.

Heck for inside 500 plinking it's pretty tough to beat a .223!
You can buy a very acvurate one tgat will shoot ammo that won't break the bank for factory ammo or quality hand loads .

Right now I am thinking Tikka Tac or saving up a bit more for a Cadex. I am doing it backwards though as I bought dies and brass etc... before I get the gun. A lot of great suggestions . Too many options kind of like being at a massive buffet of your favourite things lol...
