ORA CQB Match 1 - 2012 AAR & Stats

The laugh of the day for me was when Tim said the modified prone was an "easy 100 points". In the practice, aiming at the right sport, I shot in the bottom left of the 4 area, all nicely grouped. So I measured up to where I should be aiming for the scoring match. I aimed there then, and I hit where I aimed!! Top right of the 4 f:P:

However, my score was higher this time. I even got some points with the pistol! Now if I can just get all my pistol shots off...

JRWQor:

Your mistake was that you believed him... A Simple and quick 100 pts... that's for the under-30 year olds!

For us over 55 year old guys, it was hard enough ADOPTING the modified prone on the shoulder. Actually my ACOG TA31F did really well on that one... Timk was right... I did hammer a few bull-5's on that match. :D My mistake was when I broke Timk's rythm of the relays: Shoot, score, patch, replace targets, bomb mags.

I made the mistake (don't get Diabetes II) of having to go pee and forgot to bomb up my 2 pistol mags with 5 rds each for Match 4

So when Timk said, "Insert a pistol magazine!", I grabbed my pistol mag only to realize it was rather light.

f:P: I just dropped 50 points!

I got a kick out of some very nice blingy (drool drool in jealousy) pistols being ground into the dirt during that modified prone position on the strong side! And that's why those expensive IPSC ghost holsters and Open Class pistols are not appropriate for this game. It's Master Timk at his best design work...

Hey, thanks to all of you for making this match work so smoothly. I cannot believe how fast everyone worked to police up range and return the location back to it's original state. What a community we have built. Kudos go out to all participants, match director, staff, wannabee staff, stats, target patchers, and weather men/women. :D

Cheers,
Barney

I worried I'd do the same with the pistol mags, so I solved that before I got to the range. I bough 8 mags for the pistol. Once I got there I took 6 mags: 4 with three rounds and 2 with five rounds, and kept them on me in order of how I would use them. We didn't do much pistol in the practice, so all I had to do at lunch was to get the sequence back in line. Worked perfectly in that regard.

Now I just have to make sure my pistol mag is FULLY inserted all the time.

Second flaw I found, I was practicing mag changes all week at home. I had it down pat. Except at the shoot there was one other item I hadn't included in my practices. My rifle hanging across my front. It scewed up my sequence and movements I practiced at home.

I've got a few other things I'm going to practice to speed things up for myself, so hopefully next time I won't not fire rounds I should have.

:rockOn:Awesome, Tim FU held back the real rain.
Great Job everyone.
That being said, PMAGs just couldn't handle the awesomeness of Muilticam, and failed accordingly, had feeding issues on Bay 9. There was just too much awesomesauce in one bay for the mags to handle it, with not only Multicam but plates too.:runaway:
Hats of to Ganderite for being so kind as to donating prizes and Brian B for being a good sport and passing his on. Thk
Crap day of shooting for me, some great people as always.
See ya next CQB.

Yes! Way too much multicam and awesomeness for the pmags both of us suffered big time because of it. Next step is multicam pmags so they can keep up with team multicam!!!

Next time I gotta get me some Multicam... my #### might fall off!

Safariland better make up some holsters in multicam. When I remove my holster to enter the shztter, I better not lose the holster in the grass with that camo pattern... :D

Safariland low signature AlS holster:

Great match! Thanks to Camaro for all the pointers!

Pistol pretty much killed me... hard getting used to drawing a gun that isn't already hot. Gonna have to adopt the Israeli style of carry & draw:

Might have to grow that tacti-stache as well... just for good measure. I hear it can be used as cover...

Note: I LOVE my muzzle brake....except during modified prone TWK. The sand at Langemark tastes pretty much like you would expect.

I have a couple of plans up my sleeve though. Bwahahahaha

Mine left a couple of 3" x 5" x 1" deep divots on the ground... :p

.

Turn it 45 degrees! The dirt must be shared with the other competitors so that we can all feel like we are one with nature...

I'll keep my Triple Tap on as well as my PWS CQB comp, its fun to airate the Langemark lawn.
Need to plug up on this stage, my ear defenders come off my noggin, either that or duct tape, none in multicam.
