Howdy gunslingers,
Thanks to everyone that made it to CQBm1 today! 26 shooters braved the elements today; -8 and flurries, to shoot the first match of the season. I'm sure Tim was happy to get the snow match that he wanted and a chance to brag about his heated jacket. As always a big thanks to our match staff for keeping things running. Today's match staff was made up of 6 FPO candidates that Tim has been training to help run the range. Big round of applause to these folks. They sounded like pros on the radio and almost have the range commands down, even if they did have to write lines to remember them. Also thanks to our Stats Officer, Victoria, for keeping on top of tallying all the scores. Also to our score running spectators for bringing the scorecards into the stats office.
This year there are some rules changes, for example mag couplers will no longer be allowed. This info will be emailed to competitors and can be found in the match info sheets.
We had a few weather casualties today, please make sure to dress for the weather, and bring spare clothes in case it changes. Its all about the layers. We also found a few firearms that didn't like being run in the cold and caused their owners some heartache. Make sure to use lubricant appropriate for the weather.
Did anyone else notice we were the only users on the ranges today? I know there were only 2 other units in the training area on Saturday too (one was a glider tow plane), and the weather was quite nice Saturday.
