Two weeks ago I ordered two cases of Buckshot from Marstar. While talking to a manager at Marstar I was told that my order has not even shipped yet! Big song and dance about it being busy? Too busy to slap an address on a box and give it to the courier for two weeks? In the meanwhile I have an email in my inbox stating that my ammo would be shipped the next day, which it obviously wasn't.

Management assures me that my ammo is going out tomorrow, which will make this project a 3.5wk start to finish affair?

Is this typical service of Marstar? I've heard some negatives in the past with some other CGN's having problems with them...should I keep my order or call them back and cancel it all together? I am sure another company in Canada will take my $500 for an ammo order.

Not sure if this is the proper forum for this or if the tone of the email is appropriate, just seems like the customer service there needs a lot of work if they are going to keep customers. I won't be dealing with them again after this one, how many others have had negative experiences with them?

One thing to consider is they just got a order of M305's in, and some people have been on the waiting list for those since the middle of the summer. So, depending on when your order was placed, and working in a first-come, first-served basis, your order may have been delayed for this reason. With Marstar, I have found that once they have your order in stock, they work exceptionally hard to get your stuff to you in a timely fashion.
Hope this helps, and I am sure others will chime in as well!

I'd be patient. I've had good experience (several times) with them shipping ammo. I'm sure as Macsailer stated, they do have their spurts when they are probably overwhelmingly busy when backordered stock needs to be processed.

I guess these weren't on that shipment...:(:

Well now it seems we can't win for losing....

I am aware of your order and subsequent complaint regarding our service....

You were informed that were are extremely BUSY and that your order was about to be shipped....

Your statement "Too busy to slap an address on a box and give it to the courier for two weeks? " is a bit unfair my friend, such action would mean that we slip your order to the front of the line, ahead of others who have been patiently waiting for their order.... How would you feel if you were a victim of someone line jumping ??

I repeat, we fill orders in the sequence they are received, as a matter of policy we do not play favorites.

We are sorry if this has caused an increased level of anxiety at your end.

Regards
John

MACSAILER seems to have a grasp for reality,
We were garanteed delivery of our container of M14s for the end of August and planned accordingly.
It arrived in Vancouver the first week of November, Canada Customs took almost three weeks to release it....
Another week to get here, they had to be inspected, inventoried and registered.
All in all several months late, we had hundreds of back orders on file....
We sold out completely in less than two weeks....
Our staff is working 16 hour days transferring the rifles and packing the orders....

In addition just three weeks ago we received a container load of handguns from Norinco....

Oh I almost forgot the 10 container loads of ammo that came in this month....As well as three shipments of firearms from Europe.

I want to thank ALL of our customers who are understanding and are patiently awaiting their new toy(s) we are doing our very best to get out as many as we can before the Christmas Holidays.

WILDBORE;
Your statement "Marstar is known for sloppy service"
is based on what ??
I would appreciate it if you would substantiate your claim.

If our service is so sloppy how do you explain the fact that we are so busy ??

Who else in Canada offers a warranty policy like ours ?
I look forward to your comments
John

I ordered some 00Buck from Marstar and it took 2 weeks, I ordered parts, it took two weeks...

...Doesn't bother me, if they are busy, they are busy, it's not like I'm expecting Zombipocalypse any time soon...

...That isn't scheduled until 2012, so I got time.

Before then I plan on making many more purchases from them - IMO, they are a great business selling great products at VERY good prices (try to find 00B in Canada at a better price).

I ordered from Marstar before. Very satisfied with the order and shipping. A company that supports Canadian firearms right. Will order from them again (when I have some cash).

My problem with Marstar is depending on who I talked to, I was told three different stories, including an email the next day that my order was about to ship.

In all respect to Marstar, if you get that busy, why not hire some more staff so customers are not waiting for a month for their orders? I understand there is a pecking order, but when you can't fill a simple order for three weeks, I'm sorry, to me that's bad customer service. I really don't care what's going on at your end, I placed an order and expect it, not a bunch of different stories from each person I talk to about how busy you are.

I understand that I might wait for my order to be processed, but I could have been told at the time of my order it was going to take a month. The thing that bugs me the most is the email I recieved saying my order what processed and ready to ship the next day.

This is my first experience with Marstar and it hasn't been very positive to say the least.

I don't want this thread to turn into a bashing match, I'm sure many of you have dealt with this company in the past with no problems, but after all the negatives I've heard over the years about there customer service, I am now living it and it frustrates me. I just want a straight answer to my question "has my ammo shipped?" Three people there with three different stories and all don't mesh? What is a customer to think?

Enought with bashing Marstar, I will patiently wait my month for my buckshot. One month for my order....aauuuuggghhhhh!

I don't know Marstar or there service if you did not like it or don't like it now don't buy from them.If I buy something and it is not shipped at the agreed time you can cancel the order. If you have no choice as to were to get your product and have to buy from someone with bad service I feel for you.

Some people don't realize how much goes on at MARSTAR. It is not a quaint little store where not much goes on and there is 3 people standing around waiting for someone to talk to (like Target Sports).

As you can see they deal in a huge amount of inventory.
I would not expect them to ship the same day. It is unfortunate you just happened to call them at the worst possible time.
I hope if there are any communication issues they get worked out.

I have had no probs with Marstar....but I ordered in the summer :)

I have nothing but good things to say about them, great service for me when I bought some stuff there....

I guess I will just be patient and realize that there are things behind the scenes at Marstar that I don't know about, such as the large surplus shipments, etc. I recieved a tracking number today and was assured my order was shipped this afternoon. Hopefully things will be smooth from here.

Sorry if I came off a bit too strong, I was just a bit turned off by the customer service I had recieved and was wondering if there are any problems. As someone who uses their Frontier bullets, I know they offer great products at great prices. I should just realize it is close to Christmas and probably very busy-my order will go out in order recieved, as it such.
