Ottawa Hungry M14 Clinic Sat 20 Mar 2010 Debrief Here!

Hungry - are you planning one in the greater toronto area this year ?

Hungry here: Just completed a Barrie clinic in January. No takers in the GTA for Feb, so I laid nice and low. Next Jan, I'll have a Barrie clinic once again. And then we'll stay local in the Moronto area for February. :D

Ar180, sorry. I don't think I'll be able to make it. Such a shame too, because it would have been a great learning experience for me. I hope one of the other guys can help you out.

Barney, I wish I could make it but I'm in the middle of a move and there's no way it's going to happen for me this weekend... I might have to drive a bit more distance to catch the next one.

Cheers,
John

It's very easy to find, right on Hwy 15, 1 or 2 kn south of Smiths Falls, on the northwest side of the road. There's a sign, that's hard to see, but there's a fluorescent triangle, and a fluorescent fish on a post at the driveway. I'll attach a google map. I don't know if it'll display properly, or not.

It didn't, but these are the coordinates. Search them on the map. 44.868614,-76.048136

Range Rules for the Clinic

It's as follows guys:

One guest per club member present and a fee of $5.

That means if three club members are present then three people (not nine people going up in groups of three) plus the three club members may shoot.

I don't see this as a fun shoot and won't be bringing ammo, so it's not a big deal to me - let's not have puppies over it.

Tools are all packed in the garage. Vehicle is washed and gassed up. Rifle is trigger locked and packed up. Gotta get the overnight bag organized. Now I gotta hit the gym and reinforce my "tough guy wannabe" image.

Cheers,
Barney

Of course its not a fun shoot, but it can be useful for the clinic:
The point of being able to shoot is you can mic your spent brass and see what your headspacing is. If we run out of members that can sign in guests at the range I guess a member can shoot your rifle for you. all you need is a few casings to get an average.

Hungry, do you have a headspace gauge for 30-06? I'll be bringing my M1.

Just ensured that I've packed my ONLY TWO headspace gauges, the .308 and a .223

Sorry that I don't have a .30-06 gauge. Packing right now for the road trip to Ottawa.
