With the CPC in an advantageous position, I have the following two proposals. It is time to ruffle the feather a bit and start getting things OUR WAY.
1) For years, all AR15s are considered restricted. However, the exact wording of the OIC restricts M16 and its variants only. Note that AR15 is around long before M16, M16 is a variant of AR15 but the vice versa is not true. THis is well documented and commonly known fact. Our position is that all AR15s, other than the models specifically names in the OIC, with barrels over 18.5" should be non-restricted as they are not variants of M16. This means AR10 and SR25 should be non-restricted as well.
2)We should start pushing what we will call the "Military Heritage Act" or " Military Heritage Initative". To honour our military and sacrifice made by our soldiers, Canadian should be reminded of the contribution of our military and our regimental heritage. We propose that all variants and models of Canadian issued small arms should not be prohibited now and in the future. This means all variants of C7, C1, C2, C6 and C9, should be reclassed as non-restricted or restricted. We should follow what switzerland does - While CA is prohib, CA of government issued rifles is excepted if they are legally obtained.
