Out of the Loop - Why can't I find .22LR ANYWHERE!?

To VanMan: I agree, this province and country is fine, I am certainly happier here than I would be there! Still, it never hurts to see things from all angles and viewpoints, da? ;)

I haven't noticed any shortage. Hamilton ontario area. I've been to al simmons, sail(Burlington), fishing world, Canadian tire. All had bulk and premium stuff.

Definitely no shogun shell shortage. Fishing world has tons of it, I just picked up 250 rounds for $5X.xx remington gun club.

Now that you just told us where to find it check back next week and see if they have any left. LOL

No local shortage.

Don't be a douche and don't buy everything you find in a panic buying spree. Buy enough for a few months or a few years if needed, but don't buy 3 lifetimes supply and leave other people short.

Exactly. That is why there is a shortage in the first place. When those guys stop buying 10 cases at a time we will se some stock.

Was in a store today, and overhead guy asking about prices of pallet loads of some ammo....

I have 40(ish) bricks of Blazer, I had ALOT more than that last June.....

I bought it on spec last spring (Found a smoking deal on it)...... I learned one thing after BO was elected in 2008.....

Buy it cheap n stack it deep!

You probably don't wnat to know how much powder or primers I have......

I figgured if nothing else I could shoot or sell it....... What I have now will get me through till July 2014 (Hopefully)

The local shop is selling all his bricks at $40-45, Co-op & Can-tire are still under $30, but not by much. The Co-op had Winchester red bricks (555's) on for $19/brick this week and they have lots left! (here at least)

I cleaned out three Walmart's of 555 about a month ago. They told me that the SKU was discontinued. I also bought the last 2k of M22 from a Canadian Tire. I also picked up 10 bricks of Win Wildcat on boxing day for $13 each (good enough for the bolt .22).

Expensive/crappy .22 is still around I imagine,,,

So the lesson, boys and girls? When this short-term shortage is over, just make sure you build your own little stockpile for the next shortage. Not tens of thousands of rounds, but enough to cover you for whatever your 3 months of summer shooting may be. When there is plenty around, nobody buys as much. That's when you buy an extra brick or bulk box (or two) and squirrel it away.

I figure I will buy 5000 and that should be enough for me, CT near me just has 50packs, have to be lucky to get 500packs

I've found Blazer 500 packs for $19.99 (10x50 brick, not loose bulk), since I can't find my beloved Win 555 for under $20 anywhere you guys think I should stack up the Blazer? I don't buy it often enough to know a good price.

Just picked up another 500 minimags (hp's) at my local can tire, puts me over 5,000 rds. POSSIBLY enough to get me through summer... If I have to! Lol

Found some Blazer, seems the hype was all just that, a full load of B.S.
Seems the stores are even taking to saying they will have none in stock, so they can prevent mass buy ups, have stock, and sell it more expensively.

I bought 20 bricks of Thunderbolts@$14.99/brick, at LeBaron's a few years ago, and would be willing to let some go at E.E. prices,+shipping!:p

The hype is not here in Canada, its in the US the country all gut cheap 22 ammo comes from. Canadian stores are selling old stock. When its gone its gone, not to be replaced for some time. There is no hype in your local community, unfortunately your local community does not make 22 ammo.
