Last week I was out at the range and put another box of ammo through my Dominion Arms Outlaw from Canadaammo. I've put around 700 rounds through it without a hitch. (yeah, I know, I just like shooting the thing.)

Upon packing up to head home, I shook the gun and it sounded like there was a part loose inside of it. That really got me concerned of course, so when I got home I called Canadammo. Within a couple of hours I got a call from them telling me they would be happy to have me send it back to them for replacement or repair, all shipping paid, or ... I could try take it apart and fix it since they were pretty sure they knew what had happened. They guessed it was a little screw from the top of the receiver that had worked itself loose.

I was a bit skeptical, but I'm kind of an optimistic sort of guy, so yesterday evening I held my breath and took the gun apart. Thanks to some of the previous threads on that particular gun here on CGN, I could see the different parts, and managed to get it apart with no problem.

I was amazed at how simple it really is. There was a lot of grease and oil that was gooping things up in there, so it was good to be able to give it a good cleaning. All the parts seemed to fit tightly, with no wear or stress marks after all the shells I'd fired through it. I quickly found a small screw and a little empty threaded hole along the top part of the receiver, and with a little Guntite applied I put it all back together. Total time, about 45 minutes.

I called Canadaammo back and told them there would be no need to return the gun, and thanked them for their time.

I know a lot of folks think that Chinese guns are crap and don't trust them. I can understand that perspective - my new Mossberg 590A1 is in a whole different class of weapon. But I have to say that I totally love my Outlaw. The price was very reasonable and the service at Canadaammo is superb. Quick response, accurate information, and a really cool product line that can't be found anywhere else. I just can't wait till the Grizzly pumps arrive this spring.

Now that I know the gun inside and out, I'm thinking of modding it a bit... sanding the stock and painting it matte black with some sort of Tec-Cote finish, lopping a couple of inches off the stock... hehehe.

So hey, in a world of crappy service, its nice to have great service and a company that will spend the time with you to make sure you're happy with your purchase. Plus, I learned a lot about my gun, and am more confident about taking guns apart to learn about how they work. Very cool ;)

i was away when the Outlaw was introduced so i only saw it a couple months ago. i skimmed through all the 'omg its Chinese its going to blow up in your face' type posts (unless they actually have blown up its nothing but speculation born of prejudice) and i was just about to buy one when i noticed all the people complaining about the piss-poor barrel regulation.

regardless of how cool or unique it is, whats the point of owning a gun that doesnt shoot where you point it?

hopefully the next batch will have properly regulated barrels. CanAm offers some nice deals on some unique product but ive learned to wait for the second batch.
