I just got one back from a CGN'er, I got a over sized bolt handle put on and a brake, Looks awesome... I'll get pics this weekend. More of a long range then sporting gun.

A few years back I spent $90 on a mutt of a sporterized (wood cut down not metal) P-14, the barrel, receiver, and bolt all have different serial numbers.

Even in this form with the original iron sights it out shoots any other Enfield I have shot or owned...so it is a keeper of a truck gun, and the other Enfield has been passed onto other family.

Someday I'd like to find full wood and bands to bring her back to some semblance of original form.

But anyway... :)

I have one of each, both sporterized. My P14 has a Williams peep sight, and my P17 currently has a Tasco 6-24x42mm varmint scope on it as it's the only scope I had laying around at the time to throw on it and try at the range. They both have full length barrels and they're great rifles. Actually my P17 may be the most accurate rifle I have - the crazy thing shoots 1/2" consistently, day in and day out. I'd reccomend them to anyone.

RR are they still original cals?

I have a p14 on it's way and am looking to customize.

would like to go with a smaller cal for varminting and deer. thos elook like fine rifles didi you do the work yourself

I have about 9 of them. They range from a stock M17 BSA version to a custom P14 in 450 Alaskan (currently away right now). My lastest is a 375HH M17, and love it. They are battle proven CRF, and will outlast my lifetime of use. I can't say enough good about them.

If someone is looking for parts, let me know.

Pics up soon

I am trying to put together parts to build one right now I have a p14 that has had the barrel chopped to 18" but I bought it withthe thought of rechambering for varmints so is should I be maybe looking at something belted to keep changes to the action to a minimum? someone suggested 6mm mark VII (which is based on 7mm rem mag i think) what all are your rifles chambered for do you have any varmint cals? who did your work?

thanks Clay

All my projects were for big heavy recoiling cartridges. These actions will take it with ease. I didn't build any small rifle's on them due the fact that I thought it was a waste. So far I have a couple that are still 30-06, 280AI, 375HH, 450AK, and next is the 404 Jeffrey.

you have probably heard the same story about Win's, Rem's, and the Eddystones, so I won't bore you.

The guys that did the work, I can pm you if you want. I had one gunsmith tell me that he didn't want to work on my P14's anymore because the fussyness of the square acme threads, and cutting the cone and extractor groove. Oh well, I'll find someone else.

Bottom is M17 30-06 BSA rework.
I'm still waiting for disposable funds to put a pipe on my .25-303. so it sits. big, heavy, solid actions.

sell one of Bartell's

I have a P-14. The bore is darker than tobey's touchhole:) but everything else is good. I should probably put it on the EE, 'cause I'm never going to do anything with it.

My P14. Beautiful work someone else did. Jewelled bolt, great trigger, even a muzzle brake!

P.S. no-one has gone anal yet on calling the "Enfield Model of 1917" a P17? Nice to see.

Beautiful rifle Andy!

For this thread....

I had an Eddystone mfg Enfield US Model of 1917 .30-06 sporter that I just sold in the EE. Nice 1960's vintage "Bishop" stock. Iron sites only, not drilled & tapped for scope. Good shooter but a heavy beast!

Would've kept it but I already have 2 other rifles in .30-06..... Pics:

Here's one I've posted here before. Based on Winchester M17 Action & barrel from 1918. Customizing was done somewhere in the late 40's/ early 50's from what I was told. Great, accurate old rifle.

I got the better part of a P17 in 300WM with a detachable mag.
It was a beautifull rifle until I bust it in half, oops..
Sent the busted stock to a guy on here who sounded great.
About seven months ago he fell off the earth, I have no idea if he's still alive.
Really weird to tell you the truth...
I'll give him another 4 or 5 months to surface, after that I'll source another gunsmith.
