I've never had that experience with my P1. I own other 9mm handguns, and my P1 is more or less like other 9mms to shoot. Obviously, the trigger shouldn't "stick" to the rear. I don't know how that's related to the shock you're feeling, but something's not right. Generally, recoil is relative to bullet weight and amount of powder used. "Plus P" loads will generate more felt recoil than "standard" loads, for the same bullet weight, and with standard loads, as you go to heavier and heavier bullets (115 gr. versus 124 gr. bullets), in most handguns you'll experience more felt recoil. It sounds like it's time to find a good pistolsmith. I've never sent a pistol for repair, but I've had other kinds of pistol work done by Barry Jensen at Bits of Pieces in BC. He does good work, and so do several others, I've been told.
