P2000 at P&D

We carry P2000 in 9mm at my working place, and we have the pleasure to get the LEM on it, sweet shooter with that system, I dont like and can get use to TDA. Hey! I am more a revolver guy then semi. Single action is the top in a 1911, but let me tell you that the lem is excellent. I owned 2 Sig with DAK, that are really good, but the LEM is just lighter and easier to get used too. IMHO.

Until HK will sell there LEM to civy , I wont buy one. Since I am not the decider at work for the firearm to be carried, I had no other choice then the one they lend us for work, and I wont complain. Oh! forgot to tell you , but QPP authorized my cie to buy 12.6 P2000 with the short barrel.

Yves

HK WILL sell the LEM to civies. Just look it up at CDNN, or HK-USA's website. CDNN sells them for 50 bucks, i think HK-USA chares like 120 dollars for the LEM and install.

R-Nicholls WONT sell the LEM to civies

What you could always do is get it threaded, period. I'm actually planning on doing this right now... putting thought into it as we speak. ;)

Just be careful. The USP series has some VERY inconsistant barrel hardness, that may damage the thread cutters. Im not sure about the P2000's, you just gotta be careful with it. I admit a P2000 with a flash hider would look sickly awesome! :D

You can get a USP with LEM.

Sure you can, if you import one from the states, or if you get a departmental letter with a end user agreement, then R.Nichols will sell you one:rolleyes:

I hate R.Nichols.

BTW, I work for the same employer as SMITH45, and the P2000 is really the heat! The LEM is sweet, no pressure for the first 4 or 5 millimeters, then a steady pull till trigger breaks. Awesome to shoot. I'm trying to figure a way to get a LEM on my USP to get as close to my issued sidearm so I can train more effectively.

I might just end up ponying up for a P2000 too, because i kinda like the variant 1 trigger on SA mode.

I was actually wondering how many people would be interested in an LEM group buy type deal... Get mabey 20 LEM's and spread the cost of the import liscence over it them.

If that fails, well nothings impossible ;)

If that's what they look like, I'm going to be all over one like a fat kid on cake.

Seriously.

The barrel sticks out MORE than the doctored up picture. If it was only that much and LEM I"d get one right away. I checked websites, the barrel length is 3.66" long. I'm going to go to P&D on Friday and measure the damn thing. It looks as long or longer than the picture of the P22 in this thread. If I recall the barrel is almost TWICE as long sticking out than the doctored up picture in this thread.

I was also checking, the HK45C has a barrel of 3.94". This is the compact .45ACP with a P2000 grip, cocked and locked safety/decocker. Now a Canada legal version of this gun I'd get immediately, less stub sticking out AND cocked and locked short trigger capability!

I'm also not a DA/SA guy. The DA trigger is about 12 lbs(like my old and sold years ago Beretta) and quite smooth, SA is less than 6lb and crisp on the V3 P2000.

No need for a Canada-specific model. There will be a tactical version of HK45C with a threaded barrel that should be long enough to make it restricted.

The P2000 is supposed to be 173mm overall length with a a 93mm barrel. I tried to make the picture roughly fit those stats when on 1024 x 768. The barrel is probably still a bit short though.

GLOCK 19 - 102mm barrel in the States.
SIG 229 - 99mm barrel.
P2000 - 93mm barrel.
GLOCK 26 - 88mm barrel.
Walther P22- 87mm barrel.

Where the barrel sits in relation to the rest of the gun is a little bit different in different models of pistols obviously, but the P2000 should be roughly halfway between my SIG and my P22.

Somebody find me a picture of this damn gun!! :runaway: C'mon Wolverine, Shooting Edge... somebody... anybody ... put up pictures of the Canadian P2000 please!

I'm a big fan of compact guns. I'm the proud owner of a P229 and P22. Looking at those pictures, I am very tempted. That extended barrel is not a big price to pay for owning something that would otherwise be prohib. It looks to be just a small bit longer than my 229.

Thanks to Wolverine Supplies for getting the LEM!!!!
I can live with the 'super snub' barrel with the LEM!!!!

Looking good... have you guys figured out your price yet? I don't see it on your page just yet.
Just working on our website as we speak. Cost of the pistol is $1075.00 plus shipping and tax.

Looks great,....also that you got the LEM is astounding....I have heard with the large US Government contracts...it is not as easy get as a few years ago.

Just got my V1 LEM.

The LEM is best described as similar to the A/S system on the P99 but with longer reset. When first slide cocked, the trigger goes forward. When you pull trigger(it's extremely light, the hammer rises to set point). From the set point you get a SA like pull of around 5 lbs. (this is like the long SA on P99). After slide reciprocates, you can either let trigger go forward all the way or feel the reset and pull from there. The reset is about twice as long as the P99. One difference is that the P99 locks onto short SA mode whereas the LEM the trigger will by default go on its own to long SA mode unless you 'ride the link' and pull when you feel the reset. The Heavy DA mode only results if you have a misfire and slide doesn't reciprocate. The LEM is kindof like the Para LDA in someways. To be honest it kind of feels like my P7M8 but with a bit more travel before you hit the link.

It's a nice system, a little bit safer than P99 due to longer travel times. Only thing I don't like about the gun is the right sided slide lock lever moves a bit on it's own as it's not locked on tight. KInd of expected as it's retained by flanges from the pivot pin of the strong side slide stop.

Handle feels a little bit better than the P99, good stippling, haven't tried the other back straps yet.

Mag release is harder to activate than on my P7M8 it's really small.

The gun is really compact, comes with tritiums too.

I still hate the stubby barrel, however I can console myself that when I get an abode set up in the US I can always order a new barrel.

Magazines are the compact flat bottom ones.

Gotta admit it's a nice gun, trigger feels like my P7 but gun is built like a Glock and easier to clean.

Now for those of you wondering about LEM vs. V3(DA/SA), I'd say get the LEM. This comes from a guy who prefers SA guns like the 1911, P99, and
P7M8. The V1 LEM is surprisingly light and rather than DAO feels like a SA with longer uptake.

BKP99... if you HAD to choose only one, either the Walther P99 AS or the HK P2000 LEM, which one would you take?

If only HK could legitimize it by threading the barrel and calling it a "Compact Tactical"! Right now it's a modded bastard in my eyes.
