After hearing about its legendary status, i decided i must have one for my birthday. Who can get their hands on one and who has the best prices?

Had one for a number of years...

Yes, they are that good. Fit an finish (for a production firearm) is pretty much on par with custom firearm.

With the right ammo, it will keep it's own against dedicated bullseye gun.

But (as there are always some down side)
- If you have meaty hands, you'll get hammer (love) bytes.
- Extra magazines are $200 a piece.

Expect to pay around $2,000 for a nice used one.

Yeah, I fiddle around with that idea with some surplus mags I had gotten from Tradeex...

- you need to tweak the feed lips
- you need to block the holes on the right hand side of the magazine, in order for the mag disconnector to work
- you need to alter the base of the for the heel release

And after all this work, the mags were still not 100% reliable...

I have one on order. Several of our sponsors can supply them most often with a special order. They are indeed a legend in the handgun world. To understand why, do a Google search and go the the SIG forum to read enough to keep you busy for hours. Mags for the new made in Germany model go for approximately $75. One US supplier has them for $65. Mine may arrive around the end of the month.

"It is more accurate due to longer barrel.."

Barrel length has nothing to do with accuracy.

"With the right ammo, it will keep it's own against dedicated bullseye gun."

No, it won't. It is a very accurate 9mm, but not on a par with a "dedicated bullseye gun", unless you use regular service 9mm's as your bullseye gun. - dan

Just how accurate are your bullseye gun?

In a ransom rest, my P210 kept 8rds under 2" with a few different loads... which (relatively speaking) is really not that much bigger than my old 1911 NM can do... and is pretty pretty darn close to the S&W M52.

Isn't the 'X' ring at the 1.7" mark?... I know off-hand, I'm happy as a pig in sh#t if I can hold them in the 9 ring...

It's more accurate as the barrel slide lockup is extremely robust and tight and slide rides on the inside of the frame not the outside like most semis except for cz's which were modeled after the 210. Most accurate 9mm duty pistol ever made. Extremely reliable, and durable. Very few parts on the originals ever broke. It may not be the absolute best but it sure is very hard to beat for accuracy and durability.

And because I can't afford a P210, this is why I bought a CZ Shadow.

P210-s&w 952

I've shot the Smith and really liked it. However I have a 1911 and wouldn't want to get confused on the safety which is on the slide of the S&W and higher up than I am used to.

I had two other SIG's including an X-Five and in the latter case, the NILL grips and the shape is superbly comfortable in my hand. I expect even better with the P210 as the grip is slimmer than the double stacks I have.
