P226 Stainless Elite can be just as heavy as the Shadow 2, but Shadow 2 has better trigger, shorter reset, better checkering on frame for the grip, bore axis differences are noticeable and will favour the Shadow 2. The only thing I really like about the Sig is that I can close the slide with my main hand without taking it out of position. For the Shadow 2 it's a bit of a reach for me with palm swell grips, with factory aluminum grips I can reach the slide stop but then the grips don't feel as nice.
Balance-wise, P226 will be better with either an aluminum frame or stainless steel frame, Shadow 2 is very muzzle heavy. For a Sig to be easily shot as well as the Shadow 2, you'd have to go to an X-5/6 model, which becomes very expensive.
Shadow 2 is most definitely better value, especially if you are thinking about shooting IPSC. You can get the Shadow 2 Optic ready as well, not sure if P226 has an optic ready model yet.
