P229, P250 or Glock 19 Help me Decide

By the way, Sig will also be making a "tactical" version of the P239 with extended threaded barrel in the near future. I was told that this model will be available in Canada. I'm not sure when it is expected to be available, but if you are patient, this would be the gun to get.

Id heard SIG was going to make a threaded P239...I really hope it will be avaiable here![/QUOTE]

Has anyone come across any pictures of the extended version of the p239 yet?

sig all the way

I carried a sig on the job and when i retired i purchased three more just for me. Glock is a good pistol but for me the Sig just fits my hand.
Try the 250 and let us all know what it's like.

Had the pleasure of trying the SIG and the G-19. After a few rounds of each I put the SIG down and played with the G-19 for the rest of the afternoon. The Glock was far more accurate (for me) and I did not like the long trigger pull of the SIG. But that was just my experience. Since trying them out I will be in the market for a Glock.

I've shot a 229 and I own a Glock 19.
The Sig is by far heavier and has a longer trigger reach. The Glock fits me better.
Glock mags are cheaper and easier to get too.
Either one is not as ugly with the extended barrel as some guns.

FWIW we still have lots of P229 9mm mags for $25ea.

I'd have no quams with either, however since I also like the P220 and the P226 from SIG and the G19 is the only Glock that I own and will ever purchase I'd say go with the G19.

Sig 229.

The barrel hardly sticks out much compared to others.

You're only losing 3 rounds vs. 5 rounds in the neutered mags...I hate any fullsize double stack for that reason...I feel grossly offended carrying only 10 rounds in a mag designed for 17. I feel better when it's a compact gun with less round loss.

Sig is very reliable and very accurate.

glock...

I agree with Foxbat - my preference would be the Glock 19; I love mine. However, personal preference is most important - buy the one that you're most comfortable shooting!!

I prefer the 19.
The more compact models seem to agree with me more...personal preference.
That's the whole point of this exercise...personal preference.
I always recommend that everyone should own a Glock...I happen to like them the best....simple, effective, cheap to own, service and operate.
I would go with the G19 for the reasons stated.

I have 228's and G19's both are good but are different. DA/SA vs Glock DAO is a bigger question...

My 2 cents goes to G19 ... but the P239 is a winner (but more $$$) and mags are $$$ and its a Sig so its $$$$$

sig all the way

I've carried a Sig 225 on the Job and it impressed me so much that i now own numerous Sigs. My personal Fav has to be my 229 in .40.
It fits my hand, yup i've small hands, shoots consistantly without failing,
a little expensive but you get what you pay for.
However buy what fits your hand.

sorry to hijack the thread.

What do you guys think of Beretta hand guns? Do you like the 92FS or the 90-two series(newer model)?

So far i have been reading people vouching for SIG and Glock. I want to know what do you think of Beretta.

The extended barrel is completely retarded on the g19. Get a g17. Putting an extended barrel on a compact is ###lord stuff. Unless, you need threads for something special of course. :D

Ya figure? I think the extended barrels look just fine on the compacts. The subcompacts...maybe not so much.
