By the way, Sig will also be making a "tactical" version of the P239 with extended threaded barrel in the near future. I was told that this model will be available in Canada. I'm not sure when it is expected to be available, but if you are patient, this would be the gun to get.
I've shot a 229 and I own a Glock 19.
The Sig is by far heavier and has a longer trigger reach. The Glock fits me better.
Glock mags are cheaper and easier to get too.
Either one is not as ugly with the extended barrel as some guns.
I prefer the 19.
The more compact models seem to agree with me more...personal preference.
That's the whole point of this exercise...personal preference.
I always recommend that everyone should own a Glock...I happen to like them the best....simple, effective, cheap to own, service and operate.
I would go with the G19 for the reasons stated.
The extended barrel is completely retarded on the g19. Get a g17. Putting an extended barrel on a compact is ###lord stuff. Unless, you need threads for something special of course.
