Hi Everyone,

I took my new P30 out to the range for the first time today and brought it home to give it a cleaning and managed to scratch it with the JAG while I was cleaning something else and not paying attention. I obviously feel stupid but its done and nothing I can do about it now. Need to stop going to the range so late!

Just wondering if there is a way for this to come out?? Also will this cause rusting or anything?

I have had my USPC 45 for over 2 years never had a single scratch on it. Bring home this new baby and scratched in one trip :(

Thank You
T

Take some training courses with your HK, after multiple presentations, rolling onto gravelled ground, shooting in conditions that fill your gun with grit, and talcum powder like dust, one handed manipulations on holster or handy hard surface, you will barely notice those scratches!!!

Guns are tools, if you train seriously with one, the finish, even the tough HK finish will be worn and battered. They still keep working!!!

Also, even though the black rubs/scratches off, the metal still has some chemical process on it, no rust!!!

That finish is really delicate. If you take some cold blue and brush it on, it should disappear. Same thing happened to me a year ago

Thanks everyone. I am not to upset as I pirchased this one for a pistol course next month. Figured these will be baby scratches compared to what is to come.

Thanks T

I've paid good money for used guns with much worse than that. 1911 idiot marks are so common
on used guns that it's just expected on older models. Don't feel bad at all.

Yes to this^^^^^
it will rub off eventually, hk finish is the best one! fanboy talk maybe, but it is very good indeed.
Give it a rub with oil, and worst case you just relax and shoot the thing!
Amazing gun, I have 2!

Brass jag? It actually just looks like a little bit of brass transfer from the brush to me.

It boggles my mind when I see people who have unscratched guns. All mine are beaten up to some degree.

CHURCH.

Who buys a combat pistol and whines about it getting scratched up? not this guy.

If you own pistols that don't look like they are being used, then you have some problems imho. Oh if I had a broom handle and could use it... I would.
