Well I did get my opportunity to get to southern Alberta and try out my Natinose Paco'd rimfire ammo. I have my BRNO 2E sighted in at 2 inches high at 50 meters, which I thought would be alright for general field work, just incase I had to shoot at some long ones. Wow what a great time, I hadn't shot at a gopher since I was a kid and I shoot way better now.
Them Nastinose rounds proved to be as lethal as advertised, and provided a loud thump when they made solid contact. I inspected several of my victims and found a nice round entrance wound and a big round lump on the other side. I neglected to open them up to see how the bullet sized after impact, something I wanted to do, but got too caught up in the excitement of it all.
Shot distances varied with my longest at 94 yards which I was impressed with.
This being my first shooting at gophers and not my last so I'm not sure if a 94 yard shot is all that big a deal.
I did shoot some with Regular non modified American Eagle 38 grain and they too worked just fine, but didn't make that loud thump on impact the way the altered rounds did
The fellow I was shooting with was using reg Rem .22 ammo and when we compared the gophers that were head shot, it looked like mine were shot with Hornets or 22 mag, significantly more damage.
Well there it is, now I must get busy and make a bunch more as I hope to out again in the near future.FS

B E I was shooting gophers at a friends farm near Carmangay, grass is likly getting long down that way by now. Tried the Paco tool'd ammo in some Rem nylon 66 at the range today and made thing more accurate. Could not get them to feed in my Win 490, however. Fs

Okay, I know this may be the most-asked question about this product, but please tell me:

How do you ensure the primers don't go off when you mallet the rounds?

Cyclone I use a Nylon cutting board for my base, and I have wacked these things more than 1000 times, actually its more like light tapping than wacking, and I just use a regular hammer. Its got some weight behind it so you don't need to use much force. FS

I asked Paco the same question.
He told me that the lead doesn't go in because of the offset crimping and about the going off question..... He told me that the round can be made to go off, but only if the tool is used at a very steep angle and the surface is hard... and a lot of excessive force is used. However, he said that the shell didn't break anything and there was no risk of being hurt. It's too late to look for the email, but the paraphrasing shouldn't be too far from what I've been told by him.

My dad tells me that a .22 that goes off outside of a chamber is prety useless. Kids in my dads school house used to set them on the stove when no one was looking, and he said they just made a *pop* as they split open. Havn't tried it myself though....

My $.02

So now we need a test where the ammo is pured in the Sinclair device and then wacked in the Paco

I used to put them primer out in dirt and shoot them with my air rifle. It was not the kind of pop I would want to have had where it in my hand, near an eye
