Hi,
I'm new to the site, and I thought some of you may like to see how we created my new rifle. I wanted it to look like a sniper rifle so we did a camo paint job on it. OK, it's only a 10/22! I'm a rookie...we have to start small
After buying the receiver my friend did an awesome job of adding the wooden stock etc. and getting it all up together. We mounted a Simmons 3-9x50 scope and got to work on the paint. To start, we spray painted it with black textured paint, then placed grass and ferns over the top and sprayed other camo colour layers over the top. You can see the finished result (and the cake we bought to celebrate!) It looks great, and the fern and pine branches turned out best. Parts of the scope look as if they are caught in moonlight! The only thing I have found is that the black textured paint has taken over two weeks to dry, and on a recent gopher hunting trip, I had black sticky fingers every day!
