Its spray paint that when dries can be peeled off just like a vinyal decal. Its amazing and durable
 
i'll leave you guys with this sks's may be dime a dozen now but supply will dry up just like lee enfields,mausers,ect 40 years ago supply is not endless at least not for Russian sks's
 
First off, Gross.

Second, it's your property, do what you want, don't get hung up on the opinions of guys like me (who think it'll be gross, by the way.)

Third, coat it with that liquid bed-liner stuff, like they use for trucks.
 
I did a laminate refurb in satin black automotive trim paint. Held up better than the original shellac finish! The key is to properly prep the surface, light/thin coats, and plenty of dry time.
