I can't use the search function worth a poot, but figured a thread on painted stocks would be interesting. Amateur or professional, lets see them.

I just refinished and painted this Browns Pound'r again. I think I have my ugly past behind me now. If we post enough of these, maybe Archie will give up the tan Rustoleum and try something different on the new Montucky.

i like it. the dot shows up pretty good even on sunny days. if you get one make sure you dont pull retard and put it on backwards... i swear i didnt do that at first...... LOL. usually the windage adjustment is on the right.... this one is on the left.
 
How did you get that pattern on your 10/22? Thats a pretty sweet looking paint job. Might have to rip it off and try something like that on one of mine.

That's looking great, far better than anything I could *ahem* produce.
Lately I've been entertaining the thought of having a wood grain print applied to an edge by Cobra Imaging. Their shop isn't to far from me so I could pick a print in person, they have a huge selection.

I must admit that Archies custom textured rustoleum job was actually pretty bad-ass, grippy and looks to be durable, I was surprised. I'm actually thinking of doing the same on my .284 when it arrives.
He tried to talk me into webbing, but it's currently too mainstream for my tastes especially since Weatherby started churning them out on regular production models way back.

Lol black stock with the stainles bbl looked ok, but i thought a "silver" gun could look pretty good! Plus I won the rifle at a 3gun match so i figured, meh why not! I like it, that's all that matters at the end of the day. Now I just need to find a silver scope and rings to finish her off!

Lacquer paint and a wire brush (flicking / spattering) or lacquer paint in a spray gun, wide open, set to 40 - 60 psi.

Micheals here in BC is carrying the webbing. Two stores I checked had the webbing in black, sliver and gold.

Old Stevens bolt action .410 I painted up, both as a proof of concept excercise, and because I was bored and needed a project. :D I think it turned out pretty good! Better than the crappy wood look it had.
