PAL "in progress"

The CFO is literally blocks from my house, think if i call and ask really nice. he will let me pick it up once it is approved?

Hi Fastspeed.

Both mine and my wife's applications were received on December 9. Both her and me and both of each of our references have all been called as of yesterday (Jan 20). We both applied for PAL/RPAL.

Hopefully you hear from them soon...

Oh no, it's all good now. As per my previous post, I called them, I was transferred to the CFO, he interviewed me on the spot. He then gave me an extension number for my references to call. When my parents/references came home I call them, spoke to the same guy, who remembered me, handed the phone to my parents, and then they spoke about me, I'm assuming. An hour later my status was updated and it says it's been issued. Yay.

It can take longer then 70 days. it all depends if you were a good boy all your life and they dont see any red flags when they do a background check on you ;)

But no, weekends dont count. And no matter who you are they wont touch your application for 28 days. So go out and do stuff for month then start checking the cfc online site in regards to your status.

Word of advice though. Just forget about it for a while, I know it is hard. But it will really get to you if your always thinking about "meaning it will feel A LOT longer :)"
Good luck

Would a DUI conviction slow things down considerably?

pal , non-restricted and restricted

hey guys, just thought i would throw my experience out there...

i sent both(restricted & non-restricted) mine in at once which i was told was faster. Waited about 4 months and started to get pissed off. Called the number which is RCMP. They told me its still in process and blah blah blah. I told them i wish to speak directly with the CFO. they told me not possible. I called back and asked the guy if there was anyway to speak with the CFO. he said, " of course" and patched me through.

I spoke with the secretary at CFO in orillia. She told me to hold on. Went into the back room for about 10 minutes while i was waiting on the line and came back on the phone and told me. Your license has now been approved and you will receive it in 5 business days.

Sure enough, 5 days later I got it from my mail box ;)

i was also told by my range that it can take anywhere from 1 month to 6 months and on.... so who really knows. depends on who is doing the job i suppose....

Cheers
Douglas

They received mine on Dec 12th, called yesterday to ask some questions, called my two references yesterday as well and BOTH never answered. Oh well, I don't have any free money to invest in a handgun atm anyways.

Im suprised they even called your refrences.

Took my application a year to go through, references were never called.

Then again I had a serious police "incident" but no charges. (I was 19 the guy kicked me in the balls and threatened to kill me, was I not supposed to beat him sensless?)
