PAL Wait Time

My application was actually fairly painless and quick. I'm in Ontario and did my courses (PAL and rPAL) in January and received my test results in about 2.5 weeks. I mailed the application in on February 4 (regular post) and it was officially received on February 10. It appeared online February 20 and they processed my payment that day. Checked yesterday (day 28) and it's approved and issued and I should call if I don't receive it in two weeks.

Now I have to decide on my first gun and find a Range in the GTA...
 
I ended up taking the PAL/RPAL the week after thanksgiving and sent in my application which was received on Oct25th. It took me almost 3 months to get my licence but wow it felt good after checking online every day when I finally saw it was processed. Not sure why it took so long for me but later is better then never.
 
I just called them to see if they have received my app, it's been 20 days and it's not in the system. The lady said it may be in the building but just not put in yet.
Will the 28 days start from when it's in the system or from when the app arrived in the office?
 
My Application was received on Feb 10
Credit Card Charged Feb 18
Pal approval issued today March 10
Waiting for the PAL Card in the mail now.

28 Days from when they received it and issued approval.

- Application received on Nov 25
- They charged to the bank a month later or so (December)
- I call to check every 2-3 weeks and my application remains on the BC officer desk waiting for approval.

I sent my application on the same envelop with another family member which received the PAL card 2 months ago and I am still waiting...I am so frustrated because my criminal check is clean 100% so I do not know why I am not receiving other answer that "you need to wait sir"...

Just in case you didn't know, you can also call your Provincial CFO and get your License Number and expiration date in case you want to order something online (it for sure works in Ontario as I did it a few hours ago).

I’m probably going to get a girsan mc28. Copy of the S&W M&P. I might spend the money and get the M&P but not sure yet. I keep telling my self to wait for a sale, but that won’t happen!!

What are you going for?
 
Right lol, I also keep telling myself to wait for sales.. but idk if I have the will power to wait, I’m looking at starting simple, either a bolt or semi action .22 (Ruger or savage) also looking at some different pump 12 gauge but not set on anything yet, I’m pretty stoked atm I just came home and checked the mail! Card is in I’m ready to go blow all the money I don’t have haha

I have a safe full already as mine was an upgrade to RPAL. A .22 is great to start with and you will learn a lot with it. But you will quickly want something bigger.

My card came today as well! Time to shop!!
 
Sent in application in the middle of november, got registered on the 26th, update on march 11th that it was approved.

RPAL, one check, no calls to references. Should be here in the mail on monday.

Call the CFO of your province. I called mine this week and they approved it the next day.

Received by Miramichi February 17, 2020
Credit Card Charged & showed up online March 5, 2020
Application processed, license has been issued March 16, 2020

Took exactly 28 days, and to think 2 weeks ago I was here complaining why it hadn't shown up online yet.
They never called my references, but I did use both of my parents as my references, so that may have helped.
 
Just got off the phone with the CFP information line. I had phoned yesterday during business hours but got an automated message saying the office is as closed and to call back during business hours which I thought was odd.

Info officer told me the Miramichi office is closed due to the coronavirus so they are working remotely. He told me it could be weeks or months before they start processing applications again and to check back at the end of April for more information.
