Thanks.

No card printing due to Covid, so I called for R/PAL # and Expiry.

None of my 3 references were called.

So, if they email us our R/PAL # and expiry can we purchase and store firearms?

Correct. I have called and confirmed this with the firearms program. As long as you get your license number, you can purchase firearms. Your expiry will be your birthday but 5 years in the future. (Ie, Birthday of August 5. Your expiry is August 5, 2025)

The transfer times in nowadays are upwards of 2 months. So don't expect your gun too soon.

What do you do in this situation when you go to a store and they ask for your license? I can't see them accepting you writing it out and giving it to them along with your drivers license. I actually had a store refuse service to me cause some of the details on my card (NOT the critical stuff) were smudged cause I'd had it in a magnetic money clip.

I emailed to CFOO and was replied that due to large volume of application and minimal staff on site so my application is in queue for background check. How long does it take for background check does anyone know?

Thanks

I got that email too. I suppose its automated, but I later got an email with my PAL # and expiry

Weird, I also got a reply, but they simply told me to call them.
I had called them and got my number prior to their reply though, so it didn’t matter.

My application was received in November, I call at least twice a month and I get the same answer all the time. Everything is good on my application and I just need to wait for the BC officer to approve it.

I sent the application at the same time as a family member, I sent it in the same envelop! and he got it in 2 months!... However, I am still waiting.I feel really frustrated...

Does anyone know any place that is running the course right now (in LMD area, BC)? I have a friend that's interested in getting their PAL, but I can't find anywhere due to this COVID thing...makes me wonder theirs more to it in the background as a way to slow down people's ability of acquiring firearms right now by telling businesses not to offer the course so that they can't apply for PAL...especially, given recent news

Usually don't need proof that you are with a shooting range - I didn't.. and with the closures due to covid I'm sure they wouldn't be expecting new licence holders to be able to join a range as of right now - but I'm sure the ranges will open up before the end of Summer.. possibly earlier

The range I belong to submits my membership to the CFO .
