PAL Wait Time

British Columbia
RPAL issued October 5th 2020
License was in mail today October 14th
Application received June 1st
Application initial processing September 15th
License issued October 5th

It says: “Still in progress.” Shouldn’t be any issues, I haven’t had a speeding ticket since 2010. Will they update the status online? Or, will they just mail it out?

Good luck to everyone. Hope you do not fall into the "sux to be me" category.
March 09/16 2019 PAL / RPAL Course. Pal test 100% written practical. RPAL 100%/96%
March 21 2019 application received in Miramichi
April 11 2019 CC charged. Called them. All looks good. Waiting for picture to be scanned

Been "in progress" ever since. (19 months)

Called in every few months. (2019 = July Sept Nov) ( 2020= April July Sept )

I have applied for freedom of Information to get my file info (early Aug 2020) nothing from them so far
End of Sept i contacted MP - they said they would look into it. Oct 19 will be 3 wks since initial contact.

going to call them again soon. One thing that got me wondering. Did Vancouver Police screw up again? Several years ago i had to get record check for work.
When i picked up "my" record. It had many charges on it. Confused, i asked about it. Turns out they gave me the wrong file. Someone in Vancouver has similar name to me.
Picked up updated record next day. Blank page as it should be.

Not that i have been a saint. There is a theft charge on CPIC from around 1982. Nothing else. Not ever a parking ticket since then FFS.

so my question is. Does the firearms program have to wait for local police to send record or do they have direct access?
Did not clue in until later but last time i called the person said something like "sometimes your past comes back to haunt you"
Going to ask about that next call. They probably wont tell me what they see on record but will see if they can at least say if there is anything
else but from 1982 and if there is it is in error.

BC application PAL and RPAL received on July 10th.
Credit card charged October 16th
Status finally updated that it has completed the initial processing and is in progress.

I called 2 or 3 times during all this just to make sure that they had received the application but they couldn't even tell me that. I couldn't remember if I had put my return address on the envelope or not so at least now it is just another waiting game.

Update on my RPAL upgrade.
Canada Post tracking said it was delivered on July 13th.
Nothing showed up online until today when my credit card was charged.
Now it says online:

Application Received on: 2020-07-13
Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.

Really Quick for me !

Renewed PAL - 14-DAYS incl 2-week-ends !!
:( I didn't see this thread until after i posted a new thread - here's what I posted -
HI - I just wanted to update this info 'cause I've been seeing reports of looong delays, like 3-6 months and 'some Canadian forum' was advising to renew 6 months in advance. So, I did and look what I got . . . applied Oct-02 and got the card in the mail today, Oct 16. Not much of a delay, but I'm in mid-NB and so Mirimachi is only 100 miles away ? Maybe saved a few days in the mail, but ? ?
Just glad It's here; went to LGS and put it to use
