PAL Wait Time

ugghhh

quebec? all timeline posted here indicate when it comes to pal quebec is a country on its own

Ok but still it`s way to long I`ve been waiting 350 days and counting and not even a single call and when I call them it goes rather two ways. They give you there automatic message b.s. (All of our agents our busy right now call back at a later time and hang up on me or when the classic ``Monsieur on n`est pas encore rendu à votre tour soyez patient`` like dude it`s been a year:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

at this point i would just send the entire thing again to them and probably have it issued sooner than just keep on waiting, im guessing either something went horribly wrong or theres any checked boxes

Holy SHEEEET!!!

To recap.
Been waiting now 19 months. Pal / Rpal taken 09/16 March 2019
App in Miramichi March 21 2019
Appears online April 11 2019

From April 2019 to April 2020 i called them every few months

Called them again today. First time in no waiting. Call taker put me on hold to look over file
Said she would fast track it to her manager to see if they can get some movement on it.
(this was at 0930 today)

At 1242 today. I get a call from "No Caller ID - unknown"
It was RCMP. did short interview. Asked me about things in my file and reason for wanting PAL.

At end of it said he sees no reason to not issue. It is approved. Asked me if i check online status and i say weekly.
He said not sure if it updates in real time but next time i look at it status should be changed

just checked. " your application has been processed and your license has been issued"
(no references called)

Time to go shopping. oh my poor Credit Card.. gonna feel some hurtin :)

Update.

Mailed my application July 21
CC charged today, October 29
Application visible on RCMP website today, passed initial processing, October 29

I recently broke up with my ex (not married). Does anyone have any experience with a pending application and the personal history changing?
I've tried searching around but not finding much yet but will keep searching.

She signed the application as current conjugal partner when I sent it in August. I will of course bring this up during the interview but was curious if anyone had this happen and if it had any significant impact on their application.

If anything, I'm more excited for my PAL since she wasn't the most enthused about it to begin with and I definitely need to pick up some new hobbies now to keep busy.

TIA!

Typically you are good if she signed it, but since this happened AFTER your application was sent I am sure they will want to contact her as soon as they know about the separation to make sure she is 'comfortable' with you getting the license. I hope she isn't a d-bag I had a homeopathic doctor here in Calgary who was a competitive shooter and his ex wife called the rcmp/cfo and voiced 'concerns' getting his guns taken away as a vindictive response to the breakdown in the marriage so she could make your life Misérables for the next 2 years if she wants to.

Completed PAL: July 2
Completed RPAL: July 3
Mailed Application: July 6
Application received: July 10
CC charged: Oct 15
Licensed issued: Oct 29 (today)
Not interviewed or references contacted;

Good luck, hope all of you in July will receive your license soon.

So excited. Going shopping soon.

Mailed my application October 24
Arrived today October 29
I will not know when cc charged as I sent a money order instead
now the wait begins, I am hoping not too long since I am in Alberta and this is an upgrade not really a new application.

what do you see on the self service website? does it say received aug 12th? it might just be that the canada post one got delivered some times in july, and you are actually seeing that right now

You're right. It looks like the Canada Post one got through after all. Showing received Jul 30. Either way, it looks like they're catching up on the applications.

Mailed my application on Sept 25, and today nothing was showing on services.rcmp-grc.gc.ca, so I was concerned that they never received it.

I called them today and they said that they are processing applications from the end of July, and that it wont even show up online until they start processing it. So I guess i was relieved in a way.

It'll be some a couple more months before it pops up online. They probably recently put your papers on the stack of to be processed after the wait out period.

Hello everyone, here is my timeline. I am in Alberta.
2020-07-03: application received in Miramichi NB
2020-10-12(approximately): application status started to be shown online. I mailed a money order so no credit card charged date.
2020-10-31: shown application approved online. I checked yesterday but the status was still processing. I guess the website might refresh database once per day so the application was actually approved yesterday Friday. No reference calls or anything I am aware of.
