PAL Wait Time

I'm personally into historically relevant firearms so mostly surplus (specifically Russian surplus)
SKS as a first (before supply completely dries up), Tok. or Mosin as a second, wouldn't mind a 92fs and an SVT and Garand would be miracles to own,
I'm a broke Uni student right now so my options aren't too wide anyways,
But if there was only 1 firearm I could ever own (assuming the NR characteristics are actually followed properly and they don't arbitrarily ban certain funs) it would have to be an AKM or AK 103
What about yourself?

Same with the historical aspect. 10/22 for fun plinking, and a mosin and maybe a kar, depends on what they look like. down the road i'm gonna put cash aside for a garand as well.

Holy ####ing #### so I've been waiting TWO years to get an answer for my PAL/RPAL application and eventually just gave up calling each month because I'd get the same run around answer of "it has been assigned to a firearms officer and is currently being reviewed call back in another month" so yea eventually I decided I was never going to get it. Months passed and something reminded me about it and I thought what the hell let's give them a call it's been a while. Well when I called I was told some different news for once, that the officer in charge of my application had been trying to get ahold of me for 2 months he sent me letters and tried calling me. I never received a single call or letter in the mail, of ####ing course. So now the last lady I spoke to tried to get me connected to his number but he was busy and said to email him, which I did. Weeks passed and nothing. So I called back to try and speak directly and once again he was 'busy' so I left a voicemail explaining who I am and to call me back..

Anyways, I'm assuming this is sort of good news because he surely would have just denied me a long time ago instead of trying to get in contact with me?

That is patience After 9 months I would've been up my mp's @ss to find out what the hold up was, now watch it be some totally stupid.

I live in BC and had contacted a few MPs about it, all of which ignored me. I even called multiple lawyers and was told basically they cant do a damn thing unless I've been denied and have a court date to appeal the decision. Don't get me wrong I'm not perfect and have had interactions with the police (minor and never charged) but I haven't even received a speeding ticket in recent years. Meanwhile I have two friends with lengthy criminal records and have done time in California+Mexico along with destruction of property and violence, trafficking, etc.. and sure enough they have their license. It's quite infuriating.. hopefully I get to speak to the firearms officer soon as I've already made a wishlist of the firearms I want. Specifically a Beretta 92fs..

Congats!
My card was charged the same day but my status hasen't changed yet (I faxed my course in).
So naturally I called to find out if there is a problem...
and now the 800 number just gives me a fast busy tone and disconnects.
I guess they want to take off early for the long weekend...

if i may suggest a GSG16 in place of the Ruger? I had a 10/22 tactical and while it was decent, i hated the rotary mag and limit to 10 shots. The GSG mag is 22 rounds.

I already picked up an adapter + 597 mags for the 10/22. I'm in too deep already.
Plus I like the build aspect of it. I want to change stocks and barrels on the 10/22 and fiddle with it until it works out for me.

Nova Scotia Question
My grandson sent his Pal application and was received Nov 30, 2020.
His CC was charged the 23rd of March. Finished assessment and complete.
For Nova Scotia any idea how long the CFO process has taken lately?

Hopefully it works out smoothly for you.
I didn't realize I could cut out a couple months by faxing in the reports afterwards until I found this site and thread.
I am on waiting lists for clubs anyways, and restrictions so it was not a huge deal.
Going shopping on Saturday.

Thanks!
Their phones are back up. I called and was able to get someone to look up my application number. There was a note saying that they didn't have the course results. I explained that I faxed it in last Monday as soon as I saw it go live on their site. She said that would be the delay because it usually taked 5-10 business days for it (the fax) to get uploaded into the system and if nothing changed by mid week to call them back.
So we will see...
And I don't expect anything to change between now and Tuesday as when I spoke with the CFO's office on Orillia she said they were off Friday and Monday.

Hey guys, newbie here. PAL Course completed November 24th, application sent on November 30th. Received in Miramichi on December 7th 2020 and the wait is on....

Any recent activity from BC timeliness.

Mine showed up online March 22nd and zero progress.

I'm heading to camp next week and am going to try and call before I leave.
