Was this for Rpal or pal?
Mine is with quebec cfo since december 1st and I've been told today it wont be processed before february at least.
My first was made day of. Now it’s a waiting game to see if the card comes before the guns. I got a Daniel defense m4 version 7 and a sig m17 pistol.I really haven't decided yet! I said to myself when I first passed my course that the first gun I wanted was an AR15. However, I need to join a club and get an ATT before I can even purchase a restricted firearm. So I don't know yet. I'll have to go to NAS Guns and Ammo to see what they have. I have a 10% off coupon there so that will help.
I'm going to try calling to see if I can get my PAL number and expiration date so I can give it to the club I want to join. Then I can get to buying online lol.
What are you thinking for your first?

You don't need to be a range member to get a restricted or an ATT. You just tell them you got to ranges around your area with friends that are members. Don't let anyone bs and say you have to be a member of a club to buy a restricted.
my pal application timeline
october 22th 2018 : application sent
october 25th 2018 : application received by rcmp
november 22th 2018 : application show up online
november 29th 2018 : call rcmp, told no informations are missing, and to call back "in a few weeks" if i dont receive my pal.
december 11th 2018 : call rcmp, told my application is in final process, with quebec cfo, shouldnt take too long at this point and to call back in two or three weeks if i dont have my pal.
december 17th 2018 : Your application has been processed and your application has been issued.
MAN THAT FEELING.
Is it safe to call RCMP to get PAL number and order a gun online before receiving the card?
After all I'm legal, I just dont have the paper in hand yet?
Someone know how long it take to receive the card, CFO told me 7 to 10 business but I hope it get in faster than that.
PAL card is sent from RCMP in miramichi or from provincial CFO?
Received by Miramichi on September/24, charged and appeared online on October/19, called several times, been told waiting for Ontario CFO's approval, still waiting.
Anyone here dealed with Quebec CFO recently?
I called RCMP yesterday, they told me my application is in final stage, with the quebec cfo, and that it should not be very long from there and to call back in 2 weeks if I dont have my PAL.
So my hope was high but on the other end some people on another thread were told by quebec cfo that the waiting time is currently 4-6 months in CFO which is crazy.
If RCMP told me its in final process and to call back in two weeks, its because they know something I dont, or I'll wait till april for the cfo?

Current timeline for my application. Located in Calgary, AB:
Sept. 22, 2018 - Completed CFSC (Only completed non-restriction portion as I hate shooting handguns and don't have the money for it)
Sept. 26,2018 - Mailed in application to Miramichi, only for Non-restricted PAL
Oct. 1, 2018 - Received at RCMP office, confirmed by registered mail (all days counted from this day forward)
Nov. 1, 2018 - Application status online "Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date." (22 business days, 31 total days)
Nov. 2, 2018 - CC charged (23 business days, 32 total days)
Nov. 14, 2018 - Called RCMP number to check on application. Was told timeline could range anywhere from 45 - 90 days for completion (30 business days, 44 total days)
Nov. 26th, 2018 - Called again to check. Was told there was no issues and that I was still within the specified 45 - 90 days for completion. Instructed to call back in 9 weeks (LOL) if I still didn't have the licence. (39 business days, 56 total days)
Dec. 4th, 2018 - Called again to check. Was told that the typical completion time was 45 BUSINESS days and that I was still within that window. Current application was in its final stage of review prior to being sent off to the Alberta CFO for final approval. Instructed to call back if I still didn't have my card in hand by the end of the month (44 business days, 64 total days thus far)
I'm amazed that it is taking this long for me to only get a non-restricted PAL. I didn't check off any boxes, have no criminal history, and have no previous exes I need to worry about.
I'm a little annoyed as I missed the black Friday sales and will most likely miss the boxing day sales as well. Winchester is having a wicked sale with a rebate on their PA SXP models and I would have loved to scoop one of those up before the new year.
