PAL Wait Time

Application Received on: 2019-05-31

For the first timers they should factor out the expected 1 month printing delay from the waiting period so that they respect their mandate. I am looking to upgrade my PAL to an RPAL as a pre-emptive strike against further BS , do I still get the same 28 day waiting period again ?

No 28 day waiting period is only for first time application. You are upgrading so this would not apply to you.

I mean, considering its all in order though.

Where abouts are you applying from?

3 weeks for the initial processing, not bad I think. I'm in BC and submitted both RPAL and PAL applications.

Good luck. I’m in Qc and I’m at day 104 of reading this status.

A friend told me that at this stage we're supposed to have our character references call in, as this is supposed to help things move along smoothly. Any further input on that from folks who've done it? My wife and a long time next door neighbour are my references, but I don't want to bug them to go on hold for however long such a call takes on a government number if it's not a good idea.

I called today to see if i could put a rush on my licence print out and the person told they can only do that when is work related and needed to provide a letter from employer to prove it.

They also told me that printers are still running at half the capacity and they will be back up at full printing speed on July 02.
Anyone else has gotten the same thing on the phone?

My licence was issued June 20th.
I've tried to get a printing rush on it but they keep telling me they can't, only if it is needed for employment purposes.
