congrats and all that. but Club Membership must be different in Quebec. Here in BC it would be a "catch 22" ... you need an (R)Pal to join a club but then cannot get a (R)Pal if you do not join a club?

153 days not too bad considering all the steps you had to go through. It is looking like i am going to be one of the unfortunate ones that will have the record for the longest wait to get approval
On March 21 was one year mark since my application arrived in Miramichi. So at this point i am at month 14.

Did you send them an email your CFO? I sent CFOON 3 weeks ago and got replied that I am in queue for background check.

Just a quick update; I sent in my application and it was received Feb 25th.

It's in processing online and I called to verify status; Miramichi told me it's with the BC CFO now, but they're not taking calls cuz of COVID-19.

Should I get references to call in? They told me to check again in 2 weeks' time.

Got my PAL today (Alberta).

Application received July 19, 2019.
Said 'Yes' to history of anxiety and depression - off treatment.
Missed a spot on the form about former surname or something so got a call about that in August to clarify.
Called in early January to follow up. She found my application and told me to call back in 2 weeks if I hadn't heard anything.
Checked status website March 30 - License issued but obviously not printed due to the plague.
Never called my references.

Glad I wasn't in a hurry :)

Has anyone received cards at all? Waiting on my second one after first restricted purchase still.

Just got mine today after first restricted purchase. Transfer approved May 4th, got both new PAL & registration certificate today, so 3 weeks for the additional paperwork & PAL.

I was about to call a lawyer and Im only about 5 months in. If I were you I would definitely talk to a firearms lawyer. You'd be amazed how fast they get things done with the right language and properly worded letters, I don't think it would cost you more than $500.

Wait a sec, why would you need a club membership if you don't own any restricted firearms?

Wait a sec, why would you need a club membership if you don't own any restricted firearms?

They require a club membership if you're planing to buy a restricted firearm. Getting a club membership takes some planning ahead and time, so I did it in advance. I think it might have helped approve my RPAL license.

Gotcha. I'm currently waiting but don't plan on purchasing restricted. I have a club in mind for NR shooting though so will mention that if asked.

TBH I would uncheck that 'restricted' box in the application if I could. The QC process seems more unnecessarily convoluted than other provinces.

it 5 month already , I call today . someone take my case and make it prove

Considering COVID that's not too long to be waiting compared to some others in this thread. There are lots of resources about what you can do it potentially speed things up. However, when you contact them I suggest you be a bit more formal about it than your post here if you know what I mean...

I applied in December and I’ve been waiting a long time!! I called and asked in late March and they told me they weren’t issuing anything currently because of covid. But I checked the site again about a week and a half ago and it’s said my application has been processed and my license has been issued, so I do believe that are getting back to routine already.
