PAL Wait Time

Has anyone from BC recently has had there application put aside waiting in the CFO pile and if so how long have you been waiting? I haven’t seen anyone with a July application been issued a licence by the CFO. Last question also. Will they call then for sure as it’s with the CFO. Will call once a month from this point on.

please post when you get your card in the mail. i will do same. Was in summer 2019 when they were have the printer issues? people that were issued waited months to get card in mail. that would be major suckage.

Absolutely. Hopefully we will both receive our PAL/RPAL soon.

well good news for me
That wonderful letter from RCMP was in mailbox today. MY 19+ month (R)PAL journey is finally at an end.
Good luck to all. Hope you get yours today as well WWK.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! It's a long time coming....an early Christmas present. Don't spend all your money in one place. I am going to check my mailbox now.

that may be BC only. for me its as follows and im still waiting
Completed pal/rpal July 11-12
application mailed: July 14
application received: July 17
CC Charged Oct 17
Still waiting on approval
With my CC being charged only 2 days after you, I can only assume the CFO in AB is busier, as i have no issues that would hold up my application

My application was received on Aug 17 but nothing show up yet.
If I were you I will call CFO to ask what is going on

Official timeline for a 21/22 year old Ontarian with juvenile charges. No boxes checked, called about five times.

CFSC/CRFSC Completed on: December 8th and 9th, 2019
Applications Mailed on: 2020-02-12
Application Received on: 2020-02-18
Credit Card charged on: 2020-03-09
In mail box: 2020-11-09

I’m assuming it took so long because I have youth charges within the past 5 years that weren’t disclosed on the application.

I think it’s you that’s waiting also for a CFO approval? I called today and just was checking in on status, since it’s in secondary inspection a cfo needs to approve it as you probably know. I called and asked for a rough estimation, I’ve spoken to a few people at the BC cfo office and all of them say the same thing. All you can do at this time is wait. Sounds like the cfo gets to it whenever they find time. I called my local MP and she stated that if it’s not processed six months from the time it started processing. Something is wrong and to call back and deal with it then. All we can do is wait, be patient and our licenses will come. Cruel waiting period.

was a quick turn around from cc charge to approval then. maybe because no rpal was included. my cc was charged Oct 17 and im still waiting and i am applying for rpal

depends on province too. Alberta and Sask were usually pretty quick, I've seen BC in this thread 2 weeks from charge to approval too so It depends.

ive seen that from BC also. Im in AB and it sure doesnt seem very quick. I have called a couple of times, and the RCMP rep said that my app is with the CFO, and nothing was wrong with my application. Im wondering if i should wait a few more days, then call and ask to speak with the CFO, but would that cause any problems??

UPDATE TIME!

Began my day like I have for the past 18 days, checking the online status (app. 615am PST). Was still showing as in initial processing at this time. I've been a little paranoid so decided to call in and make sure my forms were ok and that the photo was acceptable etc. During my first attempt I got a message that they were experiencing heavy call volumes and that I'd have to call back, the call then disconnected. I called back about 45 minutes later and after about 8 minutes on hold got to speak with a fantastic lady who advised me my license had just been approved! Now I just have to wait for the physical license to be printed and Canada Post to delivery. After getting off the call, I logged back in to check the online status and it now showed as approved.

~ References were not called
~ It appears the online status is fairly "real time" based on my experience

Time for the final update!!

Nov 3 license printed/issued.
Nov 4 envelope postmarked.
Nov 10 license received in the mail.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting, hope you get yours soon!
