PAL Wait Time

FWIW -
Friend / coworker sent the paperwork last January,
Received the application in Feb2021 , and he just got the card in the mail yesterday.
(No criminal record, and answered no to the questions)

Weird how it’s so hit and miss.
Assuming no crim-record, etc, why do some have to wait 12+ months?

That's fast compared to almost all of the applicants who have participated in this thread over the past few months. Mine (RPAL) was received in NB Nov 24, cc charged Dec 29 and I'm still waiting for it to be issued. The last time I called the CFP, they told me my application had been sent to the CFO-ON on Jan 27 & it was typically taking two weeks for them to process; tomorrow that will be four weeks ago, 13 weeks since it arrived in NB. That said, when I called the CFO-ON on Feb 2, the officer I spoke with said they're taking anywhere from 4-8 months. So, the short answer for me is it'll be issued... when it's issued. In the mean time, I'm checking online every couple of days and calling them every couple of weeks.
 
Received in NB Jan. 7th . Today shows "completed initial review " so Feb . 24. Hope it's as fast as many recent ones from Ontario.

Still has not arrived in the mail but status still shows its been issued. I guess I was lucky
 
I thought having arms for one’s protection is against the law regardless of the reason.
That’s what I was told at the PAL training.

Got my CC charged Today,

March 2nd - CC charged, We have completed the initial review of your firearms licence application. If additional information is required, you will be contacted. Please check the status again at a later date.

So I guess it is a waiting game now?
