PAL Wait Time

PAL/RPAL arrived today, below is my timeline.

First time Ont Applicant

Course: Aug 2022
Application Recieved: Sept 2022
28 day waiting period compl: Oct 2022
CC Charged: Nov 2022
Licence # issued: Nov 2022
Licence in hand: Jan 2023

The only weird thing is my paper work says my card was issued Dec 2022 ( I'm assuming that's when the card was printed). My image is a bit blurry but hey looks like it's time to take the toys to a range or some crown land!
 
@Dirtspeed I went with G4C, firearmsoutletcanada, and Cabelas. Licence #, expiration date, and city of birth is all you need.
 
Online application pal/rpal

Hey guys! My first post,

So I did my course for pal/ rpal in the first week of November 2022. I then received my test results and info on December 5th and competed the application online through the rcmp website. Now it says and it had only been saying on the status that the application was successfully completed.

Has anyone gone through the online process? If so how was the wait and progress? I'm in Ontario.

I have ordered firearms and ammo from couple of dealers, no issues, make sure your PAL information matches when placing you order.

When you get you PAL # logon to CFP E-Services Secure Website, click on Licence Holder, once you register you will see all you information, included expiry date.

Hope this helph. I sent my applicacion in Feb and just got approved, still waiting for a physical card.
 
My first post on this site. But been watching this thread to see who else is getting screwed...

I am from Alberta. Had PAL/RPAL for 20+ years. And was simply renewing PAL/RPAL application. Sent in months before expiry date. No criminal record etc.

Sent application online and it was received on May 01, 2022. . Still DO NOT have it approved. Been contacting RCMP and Alberta Chief Firearms office every few weeks and they keep saying same BS. BACKLOG!!!
 
I checked my status for the first time in a couple of days tonight. I was not able to log in at it said we don;t have any information and to try later. I tried a few times with no success. I tried a different password and I got in, not sure why they changed my password. I was not expecting anything different than what I have seen for the last 6 months, but it says my status has changed.

Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canadian Firearms Program Toll Free number (1-800-731-4000).
 
I'm not sure of all the relevant dates but I just received my PAL/RPAL in BC after a pretty long wait.

Application sent: April 1st 2022
License received: January 4th 2023

On the plus side I've been saving money ever since I sent in the application and the long wait just gave me longer to save. Shopping time!
 
I took my R/PAL course last January. Submitted all of my paperwork May 2022, Fees taken off my CC in August. Its January 2023 and I still have no R/PAL.

When I got my PAL in 2015 It took me 4 months from start to finish to get it in hand. When I renewed my license in 2019 it took me a few months to get my renewed card.

Gov doesn't want law abiding citizens to own firearms. I assume they are actively moving at a snails pace to issue new licenses.

I've been following this for a while.
Today I called RCMP to ask about my card and was told that I am in the "waiting line" and it could be printed in the next 3 weeks.
PAL approved on 2nd Dec.

Timeline
Application Received: 30 May 2022
Application approved: 2 Dec 2022 (After having a lot of friends having it approved I sent an email and got a message that was approved) - No references were called, not even my wife.
Still waiting for the card, which can be up to Feb.

I didn't have any box checked.
 
Called the RCMP today as well.

Card approved on Dec 1, 2022

According to them it was printed yesterday and sent out in the mail today.
 
Another Update... Almost there.

Applied for PAL/RPAL in Ontario.

Mailed Application: October 8, 2022
Application Received: November 2, 2022
Credit Card Charged: December 3, 2022
Application Approved: December 12, 2022

Called yesterday and they said my card is still not printed, but I "should definitely" get it within the next 2-3 weeks.

We will see. Keep you posted.
 
I took my PAL in April 2022 and finally received my card the end of November. I had called in September (trying to secure it before the season started) and was told the waiting line was long...

Wow, incredibly frustrating but congratulations!
Frustrating because I'm a couple months ahead of you and still stuck at initial review. Real sick of the clown show in these institutions.

Did you do anything different or was it just luck?
