New PAL online application completed and vouched by references on Aug 19. Numerous calls (over a dozen) and emails (3 of them) inquiring as to where it is at. Always told if you haven't received it by end of Feb (6 months wait) call us back and we'll see what we can do...

Just applied on line for my PAL and RPAL.

the instructor informed us that his classes all apply online and have their license in 6 weeks.

I applied online today and will update once i have my approval and license.

This is in BC

December 21 2024: Course completed
December 23 2024: Submitted all paper work online
January 23 2025: Called CFO asking about it, called BC CFO as well
January 27 2025: approved online waiting for it in the mail

Renewal time for restricted/non restricted

Sent in (online) dec23/24 and card arrived jan31/25.
Didn't expect that. Super fast considering the holidays. Nice work to whomever involved.
I was hearing horror stories of 5-6 months.
Cheers and congrats to all the first time PAL people.

The new online application process is super fast. I applied Dec 16th 2024, got it in the mail Jan 20th. There is a mandatory wait period of 28 days once you apply. This gives them time to check in case you got a criminal charge after your application was submitted.

I applied for my PAL -> RPAL on Feb 10, 2025 and still havent seen them charge my CC or contact references. Unfortunately I couldnt do an online application. since it was an upgrade. Well see how long it takes.

Seems to depend on who gets your application to process. Did mine, online like you, on Aug 19th - so 4 months before you. I was finally approved on Feb 3rd. Licence arrived at my home March 3rd - so 6 weeks after you got yours lol. So wouldn't say it's fast, let alone "super fast", for everyone, which is unfortunate.
Glad you didn't have to wait though. It sucked.

I’m in Quebec and just completed the CFSC. Is it still a good plan to apply right away instead of awaiting the official exam results and to send them in when received? None of us were told if we passed/failed and the federation says it takes 3-4 weeks to find out. I think this can be a good strategy to breeze through the 28 day waiting period instead of awaiting for the results to begin the application process. Can anyone confirm on way or another?

You need the course results to even submit (has instructor number that you need for the application), my wife passed her courses last weekend and got results in hand as she was walking out the door

Waiting over a year! Bc CFO won’t answer any questions.
Course for non restricted Feb 2024
Online application and signees March 4 2024
Was doing the call in every 4-6 weeks as instructed by the cfo office, last call was January.
It’s now over a year and have heard nothing. I check both government sites to see if anything has changed. Just about to give up and get a bow.
