Para or Kimber

I've owned a Para P-14 .45 Limited, and it worked fine. It had all the good features at a decent price. No problems. The Kimber's I've seen at the range seem to have a better fit and finish than the Para's, if looks matter. I'd be happy with either.
Just a note... if you're really going to be pumping the rounds through them the stainless slide/frame will wear faster than a blued frame which wears faster than a nickel plated frame which wears slightly faster than hard chrome.

I had this same problem. If you want a gun for IPSC, you would generally want ambi safety's and adjustable sights. I bought the Para cause I wanted a .40 in stainless and the only Kimber eqivalents were $16-1700. Too rich for my wife.....
In .45 buy whatever you like the best. I'd rather have the double stack of the Para for a better grip if you're hands aren't too small.

Nairbg if you can find one of those DS Kimbers in Kanuckistan then by all means buy it. Alternatively there are approximately 62,456 DS Paras available here, give or take a few. In short my vote goes to a double stack, be it a STI, Para, Kimber, whatever. Others may argue..and they usually do.
