I've got a line on one of each. Same price. Both in stainless. Both Hi-cap.

Is one significantly different than the other? It would be for IPSC.

I've owned a Para P-14 .45 Limited, and it worked fine. It had all the good features at a decent price. No problems. The Kimber's I've seen at the range seem to have a better fit and finish than the Para's, if looks matter. I'd be happy with either.

Just a note... if you're really going to be pumping the rounds through them the stainless slide/frame will wear faster than a blued frame which wears faster than a nickel plated frame which wears slightly faster than hard chrome.

I don't think there's anything significantly different between them. Choose which ever turns your crank more.

When did kimber start making a double stack? I thought they only made a single stack? Or by high cap did you mean it has 10 round mags with it?

I had this same problem. If you want a gun for IPSC, you would generally want ambi safety's and adjustable sights. I bought the Para cause I wanted a .40 in stainless and the only Kimber eqivalents were $16-1700. Too rich for my wife.....

In .45 buy whatever you like the best. I'd rather have the double stack of the Para for a better grip if you're hands aren't too small.

Kimber doesn't make a double stack. Since it's for IPSC you should go with the Para double stack. Most of us find the mag changes on a DS considerably faster than a SS.

It's ok... don't be afraid, I have been wrong before.

Nairbg if you can find one of those DS Kimbers in Kanuckistan then by all means buy it. Alternatively there are approximately 62,456 DS Paras available here, give or take a few. In short my vote goes to a double stack, be it a STI, Para, Kimber, whatever. Others may argue..and they usually do.

Actually you are both right and wrong:

All Double Stack Kimbers are .45 ACP. However, they are VERY affordable:

3200087 BP Ten II™ NEW .45 ACP $799
3200039 Stainless Ten II™ .45 ACP $989
3200040 Gold Match Ten II™ .45 ACP $1,329

We have the BP Ten in stock...

This is the typical Ford vs Chevy argument. Pick what you like/fit/feels better, esecially if the $$$ is the same.

PS: Fords are WAY better trucks.

Regards,

Kinda hard choice! I'd have the same dillema if I was you... Probably in the end I'd go for the Para as it's a Canadian produced 1911... ;)
