Anyone have anything to type about these shotguns?
A big box store is blowing them out at 50% off.
Always been keen on owning an O/U.

Worthy........yay oar nay?

The fact that WSS is blowing them out at 50% off should be a good indication that they are having major issues selling them. When you have major issues selling low priced O/U shotguns, there is usually a very good reason. I have looked at a couple in WSS , and I wasn't at all impressed. I would pay a bit more for a Yildiz if I wanted a cheaper O/U.

Couple of things...

The Pardus doesn't fit the WSS clientele very well, IMO. They can't keep the Savages, Marlins, Winchesters, Brownings, Rugers, etc. in stock, because those are the brands that the average WSS shopper knows and grew up with. Pretty stodgy crowd, in my experience. A lot of the other guns they carry are fine, but don't move because of the kind of people who shop there.

Also, WSS is perpetually on the ropes. Poorly run business as a whole. I've seen them blow out lots of nice things for half off just because they're seriously without clue with their marketing, ordering, management... Everything. I've almost given up shopping there, because I find myself constantly using my smartphone to google comparative prices on everything I buy there. Prices range from "Holy crap that's cheap" to "Are you smoking crack? That's twice what I'd pay down the street" - with no apparent rhyme or reason to any of it.

But as for the Pardus?

I dunno. Turkish shotgun. Like any Turkish shotgun, you spins the wheel, you takes your chances. You can luck out and get a great one, or one serial number higher and it was put together by the b-shift on the same factory line. You know, the shift that exists solely to make work for the idiot in-laws.

I think the 20" has a cylinder bore. And I believe the vent rib barrel has removable chokes. What's comes with it for chokes is a mystery.

The description is awful on these shotguns. Do they come with a set of removable chokes?!

The impression I got from the description is that they may or may not come with chokes, or they may or may not be fixed, and that product may be different than it appears in the picture.

I love and hate the risk. It's like ordering a norinco, I have a few that I hope i will own forever but there has been twice as many that have been out of my house in a week. But there is just something about getting that great gun for a great price that can't be beat.

It's kind of like winning a lottery, someone usually wins, but for every person that wins, many people lose.

I emailed WSS customer service, they said that the pardus o/u's come with 5 removable chokes ( my guess is two cylinder and one each of imp cylinder, mod and full?) They didn't specify for the pumps or semis.

In my experience with Turkish shotguns from Corwin, which these seem very similar to, if they come with removable chokes they usually have a cylinder, mod and full for any single barrel gun.

So I went into wholesale to take a look at these and give my impressions to the community.

Turns out they are only selling them online; so no dice there.

Actually had a good convo with the guy at the counter, his advice:

"You seem to like the BMW's and the Landrovers; don't go shopping for a chevette"

I've never liked that kind of point of view, how much something costs doesn't dictate how much fun you can have with it.

Nobody is going to pick one of these up and think it's gonna rival an Sbe in quality but it's always fun to have a gun you can junk up and not really care.

If the richest man can't enjoy slumming it a little, then he is just missing out.

I have some pretty fond memories of busting up a reliant and a Dodge Omni lol.
