Pardus Reviews?

I actually think the turkish guns are amongst the best dollar value out there..... I shouldered a lot of guns before settling on a Yildiz O/U..... That being said, I am not a fan of the styling of the pardus guns....

I bought the Yildiz slightly used and it has given me no issues and is nicer to look at.....

I have an Akkar Churchill 206 that has impressed me, as well. Their are some dicey Turkish O/U's on the market still, but there are some very good ones selling for little more. CZ. Akkar, Yildiz, Pointer, Weatherby, and a few others have proven track records. Not sure on Pardus, seems to be little information on them, this could be because they are new on the market.

So I have been looking at these (over unders) since the half price sale went up. No real reviews online and the Pardus website is terrible. I am really a rifle guy but do love to hunt waterfowl and was looking at an over-under to play around with for both clays and in the field. For $430 shipped to my door I had to go for it LOL. Placed my order this am. A little disappointing though as the Nickel receivers were out of stock.... I guess it is better though to have the blued one in the ground blind LOL. I figured worst case scenario is that it needs a little TLC from a gunsmith.... best case is that it works great and I don't mind getting it a little dirty taking some Honkers over decoys:).... I'll keep you posted on how it functions once I get it and get a chance to get it to the range.

I bet there's lots of people secretly following this thread. For the price, if they work well they're a steal. I have a feeling these will turn into peoples guilty pleasures, like listening to justin beiber, or having one of of the flamer stocked weatherby vanguards from a while back.

The flame stocked Vanguards were a proven rifle, and the color is easily changed, quite a different situation than a totally unproven product that may or may not turn out to be reliable.

I totally agree, i was talking more specifically about the stock itself, which a lot of people talked down on, but ended up keeping all the same, and like i said, IF they work well.

People aren't buying them because they are scared. They feel trepidation regarding new things and want others to be the guinea pigs so they can come out as squeaky clean as possible.
It also doesn't help that the WSS staff intentionally steer buyers away from them. (That BMW/Chevette line is an old sales ploy)
Turkish shotguns are a best kept secret right now. So on second thought, no they're horrible. Stay away...;)

You never know, they could be a "gem in the rough", that could be very rough, LOL. I imagine there will be reports where some are fine and others not. Likely a hit and miss type of thing. For the ones that don't work out we will likely see them on the EE for $700.00. Guess we won't know until that time.

I have my eyes on the over/unders.
Figured for under five browns one would be worthy of a catch.
Only thing keeping me from purchasing one is the lack of a trigger........the second one.

Well guys, all this discussion caused me to "take the plunge". I am well aware of budget priced over/unders or SxS'S. But I'm also not afraid to roll the dice. My daughter keeps yacking about getting her pal and hunters safety. So I figured at $388.00 there is not much to loose so I ordered a 20 gauge. It will be a gift to her if she actually gets her pal. As a hunting gun, or odd time pasture clays, it might last awhile. I suspect the factory is behind this promotion to try and break into the Canadian market. If it turns out to be junk, so be it. I have a nice sidelock 20 gauge my daughter can use if the Pardus is junk.

I've got 2 Pardus SL's at my house and am going to live stream the unboxing/disassembly/etc. Normally, I'd go shooting, do up a nice video and edit, but I wanted to get something out there sooner rather than later to help out anyone sitting on the fence. I'm aiming to do it tonight at 7pm MST at https://www.youtube.com/c/Huntinggearguy/live Also, u/The_Crover is going to stream the unboxing of his Pardus "S" (the over/under) on Thursday.
I haven't done one of these before, so stay tuned for updates.

How long did it take you to receive them? I haven't even received a notice saying item shipped.

got mine today. actually not to bad, finish is a parkerized feel that seems like its decently thick. bolt is smooth and the trigger is actually pretty light, but the bolt release is a little stiff. mine came with a fixed cylinder barrel. The pistol grip is small and feels a little flimsy and the sights on a pistol grip shotgun are kind of redundant but I definitely cant complain so far. It feels a lot like a Mossberg 930.

sorry for the semi crappy pics I just got off work, hence the dirty forearm and coveralls. ill get some better pics up later maybe.

alright Im clean and well fed lol. so the shotgun is definitely different than what Im use too. To load the shotgun you must pull the bolt back and then release it with the bolt release, then the feed ramp will release and allow you to load in your rounds (the lifter does stay half up so it is easier on the thumb than a Remington 870). after you have loaded the rounds you must either pull the trigger or pull a small lever on the front of the trigger guard to drop the lifter so it is in place to pick up a round. now you can pull the bolt back and chamber the round, when you pull the trigger to fire the lifter will drop down and pick up another round and lift it up for the bolt to grab with snap caps it basically ghost loads the next round.

Its seems to work great but it is weird. it would be annoying to unload a loaded shotgun without firing as you would have to hit the lever to pick up the next round to eject.

but on a big plus It looks like it might feed very reliably, I have some half size snap caps the semi autos never like to pick up or feed correctly and this thing doesn't seem to care. ihave ran 5 snap caps threw 6 times without a hiccup. definitely looking foreword to trying it out this Sunday. plus its a pistol grip semi, that just has to be fun/
