Parker hale m82-m87-C3-C3A1 Rifles

I think i have one of the kahles ZF-69 scopes picked it up this weekend
has r32693 on it and on the rings (im guessing its ex nzdf ):dancingbanana:

it has a turret marked 1 - 8 in meters or yards ?

the cross hairs are a thick line on the ver plane that become thin in the middle
and a thick bottom post the come to an arrow

you can turn the windage half a turn left or right then it hits a stop

does this sound like its one ?

if yes what are the turrets in
yards or meters?
and how many moa is each mark ?
1
2
3
3.5
4
4.5
5
5.5
6
6.5
7
7.5
8

and what is the windage in ? 1/4 moa ?

does anyone know the ammo details for it
weight?
bc?
speed ?

if its the right scope i have a tx1200 im doing up that it will go on

thanks guys
It is the correct scope all external adjustments are 1 MOA Do Not I Repeat Do Not Turn the your Elevation and Windage knobs past the stops as it will cause permanent damage to the scope. To mount the scope properly you will need to shim the scope bases into alignment for elevation. The BC is designed for the Norma 168 gr match ammunition as for the exact particulars of the I am not sure

Keep looking... there are still bits and pieces out there. I was in Milarm on Wednesday looking at their C3 and accesories on Wednesday. Thursday evening while setting up at the Calgary gun show I found and bought 2 C3 scope cases in brand new condition. I also spotted several butt spacers and the correct pattern Bushnell spotting scope.

So if you are looking keep at it. The stuff is still around!

correct pattern Bushnell spotting scope.

what do they look like ? and do they have a cross hear ?

How's everybody doing? Haven't seen anything new in the thread, so I thought I'd bring it to life again.

How's everybody's builds coming along?

Drop some current pics in here.

My next thing to look foreword to is a second spinal operation - first one failed - so no hard shooting for me in the next 6-12 months. My M40A3 will sit idle again for another year.

The M40A3 is getting an update though - she'll be sporting the Badger M5 bottom metal when I get it installed.

Hope everybody is well.

All the best, Carl

Carl:
I have the bolt back from Casey as of today. The man made a work of art out of the old PH bolt. A man would never know it has been changed over. I shall post some pictures as soon as possible. I have been gone over a week, the back is acting up again and needed some R+R and tweaking by the Docs.
I may take the old girl out in a few days and try that bolt out. I shall keep the thread posted.
Sorry to hear your back needs another go around.
regards Tim

Yeah, this thread was getting rusty!

Too bad about your back, I recall you telling me how you were looking forward to trying out your new rifle. Dare I ask if the bottom metal is according to spec!?!?

I'll reiterate what I've said before: in my opinion, this thread needs pics of the real deal, either from you Carl or someone going to the National War Museum. And I'm talking closeups of action, mount, stock swivels, muzzle crown, everything.

Thanks for posting that. I was planning on posting the photos and to ask a few questions.
I bought it as a M82/1200TX
From what I can see it has the 1200tx bolt handle and mauser action. The stock looks a little different. I am going to get a hand stop and would like to see a pic of the C3 sling slung. I'm not going to hold my breath looking to find one but I would like to get the function right if not the actual items.
How were the cheek pieces dealt with by the CF? The one I made is comfortable and works but it would be nice to know what was done.

If you want to see photos of the sling, go way back in this thread.

I posted photo's of both of the slings we used in the CF.

As to cheekpiece's, we never had them on the rifle - officially.

Some guys I guess would use foam and guntape if they wanted something higher. We only got cheekpiece's when we went with the McMillan A2 on the C3A1.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Carl

Thanks Carl. Yeah I saw the photos of the sling in this thread. I've read through the whole thread, I just wanted to see a pic of it slung on the rifle or in actual use. Particularly the C1A1 sling as I imagine I could find one of those or make a copy rather easily.

As far as the cheek piece, that's what I figured. Lots of pics of snipers with gun tape and foam pads on the net. Just confirming that it was a personal adjustment, not something like the old leather garand ones or the lee enfield wooden one.

Oh and by the way, nice looking rifle - congrats!

It slipped my mind and I forgot to mention that.

Bushnell Spacemaster spotting scope

Boy, how quickly did we all abandon our angled eyepiece spotters as soon as the Kowas became available. I sent three of them into the cadet system. And those useless, wiggly tripods quickly replaced by the favoured Freeland bipods, that are still in use, because they actually work.

My C3

OK, Carl & Redman, I have a few pics available of my C3. If someone wants to volunteer to post them, I can email them to you. It turned out not to be a build based on my PH1200TX. This one is as real as it gets. The one I was lucky enough to find on the EE. Probably put together from parts by a weapons tech years ago at the time Parker Hale was converting them to
C3A1s and scraping the C3s. Although the 1200TX is the right vintage and right serial number range, there are many differences. The 1200s are a commercial target rifle, C3s are a purpose contract built military rifle and a to have certain upgrades over the 1200. Still have to find a few of the canvas accoutrements for it. Sling, scope pouch,& rifle bag. Wayne
