Parker hale m82-m87-C3-C3A1 Rifles

The list that was recovered from the Parker Hale bankruptcy records sales to a couple dealers in the UK. There are a total of 56 1220TX's listed as "M82's from Canada". The majority went to T Hallam (Charnwood Industries) for resale. A few of these have resurfaced for sale in the UK and Germany.

"R-39712" is not on the list.

Thanks again

I was fortunate to get a copy of the remaining C3 and C3a1Parker Hale records. A handfull of these serial numbers have shown up in the past 5 years - mostly from gun club members in the UK and Germany - I know of 3 imported to Canada and 1 the USA.

You have a very solid foundation for a C3 build. Is this single shot? and did you take out of the stock to check date code? Send me a picture of what you see - It may be the correct C3 build date which would be awesome!

Funny, I do see them come up in Germany more so than here. Another M82 is on sale yet again.

Hi Ron, the rifle is single shot but the stock has a cut out where a loose magazine spring and follower sit and it allows for a single cartridge to be inserted onto the follower. I'm not sure if that is just how they came or not. The date code on the barrel is ZB, 3. From a quick search I did that indicates 1974? Would love to hear your thoughts.

I still have my original C3 sniper pam from my course in 1976
They were brand new PH 1200 s and new Zf69 Kahles scopes .
we also learned the PH micrometer sights as well. Complete lit included the spotting scopes.
we used USA 7.62 NATO ammo I think it was M118 National Match ammo ?
First time I learned the "Hawkins" position on that course.
I was very lucky my instructor was the great DCRA marksman , ex Brit sniper Larry Fish.

Actually saw two sets of parker hale bases at the Warburg gunshow today, 20$ a set. Did a double take. Hadnt seen them in years.

That's an M85.
The M85 had a 1.5" long threaded receiver ring for added support of the barrel, and bottom metal to support M14 magazines.

Robert Snyder reproduced the bottom metal and mag well hardware several years ago.
Yes, that's an M-85 rifle. A bit heavy at 12½ lbs with scope (ZF84 or ZF95 ?) but still, some rifle !

The 1.5" long threaded receiver ring - somewhat like the long non threaded receiver ring (press fit barrel - 57mm/2¼") of the Steyr Mannlicher SSG 69 PI and PII and PIII rifles.
