I have an Investarms, 50 cal. percussion Hawken style 22" barrel. Eyesight concerns, have necessitated removal of the original rear sight in favour of a homemade rear peep sight which is currently attached to the previous location of the ramped sight. However, while I am able to know where the rifle shoots with this setup, through trial and error, I would prefer to be able to point it at a spot more directly so I don't have to remember all the variables while tryng to hit my spot. I have tried Williams and Skinner sights but either the fit is off or the barrell attachment location is the wrong thread. Does anyone have any suggestions or run into this same situation and been able to correct it somewhat. I don't think the current threading on the barrel is working properly on my jury-rigged setup.
