So even if I fill in the guide rod hole, and sell my M305, and only use them in my AIA, I can't convert them to 10 rounds?
That is just way too much work.
No, because it does not change the fact that they are inherently M305 magazines that have been modified. You would need to destroy them, such as by melting them down and recasting them, and then remanufacture them like any other piece of sheetmetal.
Pull them apart for now and you'll be legal.When you figure out the riveting, do so.
Actually, there is precedence that a bare magazine body, without follower or spring or baseplate, is still a prohibited device. If I recall correctly a guy who tried to import some to rivet himself is still in jail today.
